Explain Leaderboard ranking?
New players gain ranks faster than veterans. So if your friends played a limited number of games before your session today their leaderboard ranks will rise faster than yours.

Could you give an example? I don’t really understand the logic in that.. :<

The guy who created it sees the first few games as a trial period. Where the system tries to figure out at what ratings you belong. The new guys will climb so fast that its possible to get rank 1 with less than 10 wins or top 50 with a 4-7 record*.
Its a horrible system atm. But the good news is that the guy is working on a better system as we speak.

I suggest that you take a closer look to EU soloq leaderboards

Oh I see what your point is.. It’s exactly what Locuz told me.. Lol, only played 10 games and top 10.. gg.
Still leaves the question open how my teammates get into top 500 and Im at 97% when we started at same time and ranking andplayed the matches together..

Did you play other matches before that while they didnt? Or do you have the exact same number of games as your guildmates? You mind checking and posting their and your total W/L record?
I see the title “Explain Leaderboard ranking?”
Is it even possible?
Hmm, I did play a match the night before with one team from a friend and we lost it. My friends (which I eman my team then) have more tourni games played in total still. But we started same time with tpvp today and ended at same time still. They had always more games played in total, but weeks ago it was 100 places max difference for months in a row. Now its just very big difference.. Like over 500 places somehow..

Honestly, I dont know. But there must be some kind of mechanic/formula the ranking works around..
Me:96% Terrorsquad.2349 Denied God 205w 185l 52.56% Far Shiverpeaks
2: 547 Dhagoon.7235 Shayla Blackheart 386w 318l 54.83% Far Shiverpeaks
3: 837 LegendPlayer.2418 Thief Smoozi 200w 185l 51.95% Desolation
4: 960 Freeelancer.2860 Freeelancer 438w 333l 56.81% Gandara
5: 92% Neytiri.9463 Alatariyel 574w 582l 49.65% Seafarer’s Rest
All of them last game was today as I explained. It’s a very huge difference while we mostly play together. But this week the ranking went way out of eachother. And we mostly play only together.
Win/Loss ration doesn’t matter on the leaderboard. GW2 uses glicko2 rating system. How much you gain/lose depends on the difference in the team average rating. If you win against a team that has a higher rating then you gain more or lose conversely.
The decay you see on the leaderboard is illusionary. All decay is undone the second you play a new match. So if you were at R500, didn’t play for a week, drop off LB, play 1 game you are back up to R500 range.

looking at your history you been hovering at the edge of the LB, so even if your teammate went back to 500 rank, you wouldn’t since you probably started out lower than they did.

I’ve been wondering about this too. I started tpvp soloQ about a week ago and so far I’m 24-11. I’m sitting around 550 or so, which is cool, and I don’t expect to be higher since I’m so new. But I see people in they’ll 25 with like 80-80 records and whatnot, and that doesn’t make any sense to me. How did they ever get that high? What matters the most? It is very confusing.

There was a ladder reset 5 months ago or so, the records were not reset.
