Explain to me what just happened
ive only had that happen against engineers. couldn’t even damage him with attacks, nobody could stomp him although the animation would go through fine. it’s a bug and probably a tough one to pin down.
Sometimes if you kill someone while they are in a moving animation (Ranger swoop, Guardian GS 3?, Engi jump shot, warrior sword 2, etc). Then your actual downed body is not what is shown and is somewhere along the path of that animation. Its very easy to see with ranger because they pet goes to where the body actually is, and not where you perceive.

its a desync caused by a lag spike. all you haev to do is use a leap or a ranged attack and it’ll track to where he actually is.
Yeah, it’s probably a visual bug because your client doesn’t know where the actual body is - as suggested, a movement attack (a leap or teleport) that takes you toward your target will help you get to them.
It probably can be done maliciously - the few bots I’ve seen in hotjoin were never in the same place as their player models - but unless this happens very regularly for one player it’s pretty definitely just lag spikes.
Yeah, it’s basically a kind of lag glitch. The graphics for the character are at one spot, the actual character is at another.
It’s a visual glitch that has to do with lag. The down player is simply just in another spot. As stated above, just use some type of movement base skill ( e.g. Leap of Faith or Rush) this will take you to the real spot, then just dps.

I noticed this alot since last patch came.
But if it was visual bug how is the option to stomp there in the 1st place?
The option would be in a different place where the body actualy is,right?
A bit like the dolyack bug. We can see it but it takes no damage but if you stand behind it and hit fresh air it takes damage cos thats where it actualy is.
