Extreme Disappointment in PvP

Completely unwinnable matches 9 loss in a row 1 win in 17, huge bad luck streak .
the usual 1-3 forward 2-3 back stopped , I’m in total rut.

I hate this MMR like million other people

REQUEST:

Can I get ONE good match ?
Can you filter out players that play pvp for the dailies, seriously wtf?
Can you add resign button?
Can you add at least a MVP spot on losing team that when u lose u dont lose a pip?
Can you add soloQ back?

Any1 else feeling the pain?

I agree sometimes the matchmaking is pretty bad and you will have to endure the struggle for a bit.But overall i dont see problem for average players that know at least the core aspect of spvp and know his class to reach legendary since i allready reach legend with 95% thief gameplay 100% soloq and i`m just average thief.
Just ask yourself is it really the others fault when you lose the games.
Common mistakes i see ppl do: they dont know how to rotate, ppl never watch the map , ppl get farmed at point going there 1 by 1 instead of regrouping, slow classess pushing far to decap when there is thief or mesmer in team, unnececery attempts to play 3 cap and etc… tl;dr; map awarness.
I agree that some daily`s and achievements should be moved to unranked that will filter most guys that just play to get some pve item.
Adding a surrender option will be good coz you will not need to wait the other team to win when u have afkers (yeah 3 games in a row with a guy that afk from the start just coz he need some achievement is pretty bad especially in legend)
If you dont lose pips what the point of the system?
+1 on the soloq i really cant understand why they dont bring it back along with q-ing from everywhere.

Have to say i’m also feeling very frustrated this season. There was broken matching last season with grouping with a lower tier. But i felt like i made progress, slow but steady. I’m definitely an average player, I feel like i’m getting kicked in the face repeatedly now. I don’t mind loosing games, i don’t mind it taking longer to progress because i’m not ‘great’. But just I just feel like can’t catch a break.

I’m not 100% sure what it is. The class match ups could be better sure.
I think they should bring back not loosing a pip if the match is practically a draw 480/490:500 say. Loose your win streak fine, but loosing a pip is just mean. Gives some incentive to keep trying.

I don’t think it comes down to just one thing, rather it’s a bunch of things. The MM isn’t perfect, class stacking is an issue etc. It may even be the case that you’re just getting very unlucky with your team mates/enemy.

If you find yourself in a losing streak, it’s best to just walk away from the game for a while. Going into games with the frustration of a losing streak, will do more harm to your gameplay than good. It’ll also hopefully stop you getting matchups with the same people, that may be contributing to your losses.

Lost a game by 0 point yesterday. 500 – 500 and my pip was gone, Needless to say it went downhill from there. With a 30% winrate, one loss can hamper your whole day.

Try to play at different times in a day. Last Friday (was holiday here) afternoon it was a nightmare for me : people fighting away from points, obsessed by taking far without having close or mid, never regrouping after defeated (always going 1 Vs 4)…. I got really annoyed and was on losing streak (like 9 to 10 games). I even rolled a thief (never played before in PvP) just because I thought I also was allowed to do some training in ranked like others seemed to do.
Then I played Saturday night, it was better, Sunday night was even better and yesterday afternoon was really enjoyable : wins streak, one loss, another win etc
MMR is not responsible of everything, sometimes you need luck : on the people trying to join a party, on your teammates, on the enemy team, on this moment where you are not sure why you used that skill but it was one of the best action of the game….

Well… don’t forget your Legendary Match-Making system making any QUEUE you do, easier than all the premade you had to make before Season 2.

So easy for you that way, isn’t?

Even the best of the World, will not dare to say they got the easiest rides since 4 years into that puny game.

These are all fair points, shortly after posting I won Stronghold teaming up with and Ele (me with my Guard) to duo defense. Then Partied up for for ~5 game win streak just on Stronghold being defending buddies. Was a lot of fun. Got my way to Sappphire Tier 4.

So yes who you play, how you play and when you play defo makes a difference. But I hope the Matching and pips get a few tweaks for next season.

Just don’t look at pips dude, trust me. Don’t look at that popup after a match just think you play for transmitation charges. Especially if you are closing on higher division. Papa bless.

Walked away from gw2 til about 30 min ago, 1st match 3 thieves. I swapped to necro and didn’t help . I was pretty much outnumbered , any time I tried controlling a node. Oh well.
