OK I’m getting hammered with two hits by staff thief .. with a constant stun in the bargain. Fix this ANET. You let DP thief absolutely eat Memser for years… please don’t do that again with staff.

Just…stop. Staff Thieves have at maximum 2 stuns, and if they actually have 2, then you must be in Amber tier.

I love staff thieves. I drop a spectral wall and stand in it and watch them take fear damage over and over again lol.

ANET allowed thieves to absolutely eat mesmers for years.. and now it’s happening again.

Staff thieves don’t even have to try to take me 100-0 in two moves and it’s stupid.

What you are experiencing is a player who is well beyond your skill level.

To OP, I had 25 stacks of Bloodlust, Basilisk up, and you were being predictable. Porting away, no stealth, blowing dodges back to back, granny shifting not double clutching like you should. No need to PM me with salt.

Yay these topics again :-) Stunbreaks are pretty much mandatory right know considering the cc shower we have atm.

We’ve told her that Mesmer isn’t her strong point (we all saw her gameplay footage she posted) and she should switch to a more sustainable class, since Mesmer (also Thief) requires you to be quite dexterous, but she refuses to listen to any advice.

I was told that I’m something along the lines of a “slimebag” and to “play a class with skills”. That’s funny because from what I’ve heard, Mesmer and Thief are very similar in terms of skill. I got my 8 winstreak, broke Sapphire, and called it a night. Browsed the forums and was surprised I affected her to a point where it warranted a forum post.

If you’re getting hammered by thieves, it might be a good idea to keep watch of their position on the minimap, which is something you should be doing in general. Knowing that a thief is nearby or off respawn can help you time your random dodging and other blocks/stuns/blinds/AoEs to defend yourself.

When I fight people in legend+, usually if I’m nearby and in steal rage they’ll dodge 2 or 3 times into a block, trying to bait my burst. Often, this is the best thing to do.

thieves always did and always will counter mesmer’s because we are the only class that can keep up with them, i don’t know why some folks dont get it. sure, better mesmers will beat lesser skilled thieves.

Lies.. Ive thief’d most my gw2 life… And for the last 7 months i have been enjoying all classes…. I use to faceroll on mesmer and laugh at thieves, now that ive learned it, i laugh harder at thieves.

I feel bad later, get on my thief and murder everyone lol

vault has punish frames learn to play to before you QQ first 1/2 of skill is eva last 1/4 is open frames before dmg hits allow you to intrup the thief. ontop of that it a single hit move you could blind it block it eva it not very hard lol.

Perhaps try putting Temporal Curtain and see what happen? have you tried power locked? rumors says powerlockdown can hit thru dodges too tamed such beast.

Theres so many options as a mesmer. You can easily distort 2 of the vaults. Then daze when you see them land, theres quite a lot of downtime in between vaults. As a warrior I look for that downtime to headbutt. As a thief I just steal to daze.

I guess on the brightside, if you’re making an enemy team angry, it means you’re doing your job right as a Thief lol.

So what build is everyone crying about? Death Blossom daggers condi or power staff?
Traits?
