I know we’re all mad about the latest patch, the long wait etc.. but I still want to speculate a bit about the date of the upcoming patch to keep ourselves buzy while we wait, I guess. So,

Facts: (I cba to find all quotes but these statements have been made by devs)
- Feature Patch is before June, and not months away.
- No Feature Patch while the league is ongoing. (I may be wrong here, read Feature Patch as no Big Changes)
- Patch Day is on Tuesday.
- Ready Up dates are a Hint.

So, based on the first point the time span we should be looking at is end May till now.
Based on the second fact that leaves, 31st of May and 27th March till now as only leftover dates. Based on the Third fact 31st is a Saturday so the only date we have left is the 25th. Then here is the tricky part, they referred to the Ready Up dates as hints towards what’s to come and obviously most of us expect the Patch to be after these dates. Which is why I’m sceptical about the 25th aswell. However they could be doing something like this, next Friday Ready up, small teaser what to come, no real explanation. 25th, Patch. That Friday, Ready Up explaining all the new features. Ready Up after that, looking into the future what’s to come, most likely Living Story Arc 2 and some other content.

So yeah the question is, will Anet hold true to their statements and go through with it? Which, if the case, will make 25th the most logical choice. OR the 31st of May if they change the Patch day, which is very unlikely imo. If not, they most likely disregard their second statement about the league and just release the patch somewhere in April, most likely after the Third Ready Up.

Let me know what you guys think, I love this game but this Feature Patch is make or break it for me now.

Sparing you balance changes to a certain date is BS.
Regarding new content, I don’t expect good stuff, as good stuff isn’t what we use to get from ANet.
The fact, that they don’t want to tell us, what is in the patch, means 2 things.
Either, the content isn’t even ready, so they actually don’t have much to talk about,
Or the content is so “meh”, that they know, if they tell us now we will be disappointed immediately.

I mean, if this patch was actually good, why not telling us?
By not giving us actual information, except telling us how “great” this patch will be, they only make it worse by increasing the hype and with that also the disappointment when the patch comes out.

My speculation for the patch date:
Too late.

I honestly think that it will be a Tuesday, and probably April 1st.

I can already hear the devs: “…and then we told them there was this HUUUUUGE feature patch coming! April fools’, fellas!”

Guys, it will happen veeery soon, in the near future. Be patient, it’s just behind the corner, when it’s done! Keep your heads up becuase it’s going to shock you! I bet they are excited and shoked how great this patch will be, so you should too. Keep you fingers crossed.

I think, this is how a lot of ppl think.
But why should ANet manage to do better this time?
I don’t think (at least I hope so) ANet hast intentionally tried to ruin pvp within the last 1,5 years.
They just can’t do better.
Thats why this patch wont be better than other pvp patches.

And when the patch is there and another bunch of frustrated pvp players leaves…and maybe some pve players joined pvp as ANet gave them sth to farm in pvp, players will start to wait another 0,5 – 1 year for the next pvp patch.

I’m pretty sure it will be “soon”.

There was another slight hint in that interview saying that the patch will be after CBT3 and before the China release and CBT3 ends on the 25th of March so my guess is that it will either be at the end of this month or at the very beginning of April. I’m expecting it to be at the end of this month because of the WvW season. But……who knows.

I don’t know if it’s worth speculating anymore. It’s just going to make more people angry when we find that our guesses (that somehow turn into “the truth”? wtf?) are wrong.

I think the people who think it’s coming out in April are hilarious.

When has Anet ever given us a 1 month heads up for a feature pvp patch. After we learned about leaderboards it was 6 months until implemented. After we learned about Solo Q it was 6 months until implemented. I would go on, except we haven’t had any more feature patches besides those two.

Unless you count them removing the automated tournament Q we used to have.

So at best we’ll learn about whats coming ‘sort of’ in the next 3 RU’s and then we should expect to see the first “part” (which is usually the only part) in about August/September if we’re lucky.

The earliest I could see would be April 15th. April 1st is almost guaranteed to be SAB. I’d probably say early to mid May is when the feature patch will hit.

^ Upvote. Instead of facetious comments, can we gather up some more evidence? Pretentious remarks might help you vent but won’t get you closer to a solution. Here’s what I have so far:

(From Reddit post) “Keep in mind, we’ll be releasing a Feature Pack after CBT3 but before the launch of the game in China, so you’ll see more of that type of global change then.”
That might mean the feature patch will come out for us after the Chinese BWE3 and before the Chinese launch.

(From reddit post) That isn’t the first hint the Allie on the forums said the feature build would not come in June then Tyler Chapman added that the build is not months away so I think most people have come to the conclusion that it will come in April or May.

Yeah, I saw that interview and it was pretty interesting, however I’m not sure if the CH GW2 Feature Patch would be released at the same time as ours. If so I guess our estimated date would be anywhere from the 25th of March till the release of the CN GW2. However the league is ongoing inbetween those dates I believe so that doesn’t really tell us that much either. Let’s hope the RU Friday will give us a date or some more hints.
