Fought several matches today where the enemy team was any variation of:
decap engi
pistol whip thief
minion master
Caed
zerk offpoint staff ele
hambow

and nothing else

and my teams can never handle them… it’s making me want to take a long break and wait for a new game type/meta x_x

That’s still six pretty varied (albeit effective) builds.

Seems pretty healthy (at least to me), a refreshing change from the MM petting zoo builds that I haven’t encountered as of late. Although I did swap from solo queue to team queue and I’m far far happier in general.

It’s clear then: anet has to do something about caed. How come Caed didn’t come up in the ready up livestream? nerf caed pls

The game just needs a more appropriate matching system. If you’re relatively inexperienced, you shouldn’t be fighting people like caed. It’s not fun for people like caed, and I’m sure it’s not fun for people relative to your skill level.

If my team in GW1 was ever matched up against War Machine in GvG, I would have cried.

Strategies for each:

Decap Engi: Stability.

Pistol Whip Thief: Stunbreaker + dodge.

Minion Master: AoE.

Caed: Moar skilz

Hambow: Kite.

Is hambow still a thing? Almost every warrior I see in tpvp is s/s + bow condi spec even after the bugfix on swords endlessly blocking even while on cooldown.

Anyway, all those builds have pretty straight forward counters. Except Caed. No easy counter for that.

Everything in this list has a counter.

decap engi – Thief counters it!
pistol whip thief – Thief or Engi!
minion master – Hambow!
Caed – Tron Jeremy hard counters.
zerk offpoint staff ele – Anything!
hambow – Thief.

As a person dabbling in with a staff ele in PvP, I will be happy that they get buffed, but part of me would be sad because i can’t blame getting my butt kicked due to being severely underpowered.
