Hey everyone this is my feedback from firebrand during this first weekend from PvP aspect.

I’ll be very direct on points, but first the main problem of Firebrand:
- Cast in Virtues are insane, the response of casting a tome to casting a skill is really slow and you die before you can react sometimes. Like 1 1/2 seconds to casting most of the skills. Many times I canceled my virtue due a dodge of defensive skill making my virtue enter in a long cooldown.

Tome of Justice:
Good overall, all tomes have 2 skills with 240, 1 with 360 and 2 with 600 range.
- Casting time should be reduced to 1/2s for Igniting Fire, Heated Rebuke and Ashes of the Just.
- Casting time should be reduced to 1s for Scorched Aftermath.
- Radius increase to 300 for Igniting Fire and Heated Rebuke.
- Igniting Fire should have blast finish.

Tome of Resolve:
The healing power should scale better with this Tome, nothing good at time, you can’t outheal when you enter this tome, most of the time, you dont have time to recover yourself.

- Radius increase to 300 for Radiant Recovery & Azura Sun.
- All skills of this tome should have their casting time reduced to 1/2s
- Radiant Recovery should have a blast finish to have more synergy with Shining River and Hammer, Focus blast.

Tome of Courage:
- Radius increase to 300 for Daring Challenge & Valiant Bulwark
- Casting time reduced to 1/2s for Valiant Bulwark
- Unbroken Lines should get 5 stacks of stability.

Axe:
-Symbol of Vengeance should add a little of quickness as a boon, like other symbols and casting time reduced to 1s.

Mantras
All mantras need a rework in range maybe 600 range in cone or 360 in radius and the pre casting time reduced to 2 1/4 like mesmer mantras and casting times reduced to 3/4.

Mantra of Solace
- Should have a better healing power scale and base heal for the first 2 times better.

Mantra of Flame
- Scale with condition damage

Mantra of Truth
- Scale with power.

Mantra of Liberation
- Unhindered Delivery should add the all this buffs Ashes of Justice, Eternal Oasis, Unbroken Lines.

Traits:
- Stoic Demeanor: Rework this trait to add something more useful than slow at least something that increase enemies cool down when you disable or imobilize or something like when you have quickness you have superspeed or healing, because this trait doesnt feel as a major grandmaster.
- Loremaster: This trait could add some extra improvement to Tomes passive like a little of extra quickness each seconds.

Bugs:
Renewed Focus is not recharging tomes.

FB is in current state like DH was pre hot, garbage, and I hope it will get some buffs.

Base mantra heal is 1400 but with sage amulet is 1600 haha so weak.
Elite mantra should give protection for 3 sec after every use and final giving aegis.
Condition mantra should give chill also.
Tomes need huge rework, they are bad in this state.(too much regeneration too little direct heals which is useless on still low hp class).
F3 without block….

Grandmaster traits need rework.

I did a lot of matches today and the FB is really strong.
It’s totally different from the DH and the playstyle can’t be the same. Players that want to facetank the enemy using this elite as they can do using the DH will die quickly.

F1 Tome is insanely strong, if the enemy don’t focus you with CC and damage you’re able to unleash an Insane amount of damage.
In every teamfights where the enemy didn’t chose to focus me at the start my damage was enough to put them all in downed state in few seconds.
With the elite that grant stability and Shelter to heal if you need to survive to some AoE your damage is totally Insane.
In 1v1 against ranged classes is harder, but in teamfight or against melee classes the FB have a incredible dps.

F2 isn’t the best tome I ever seen. Good to clean conditions but the heals are not so good.

F3 is good, grant Stability and, the best thing of all, grant a Huge AoE Field that Reflect Projectiles.
A lot of times a ranger or a thief started the fight just to see all his projectiles reflected and halve his hp by himself. The best thing is that this field last 5 seconds and have 5.5 seconds of CD. Basicly you can spam it all the time and any P/P thief or LB ranger/guardian will regret his build choice.
Also the F3 skill 2 inflict Taunt and can be spammed, granting you a great chance to stop the enemy from ress someone.

I usually condibomb in mid and look the enemy die in pain.

It’s a good elite.
Maybe not the best, but still a good elite.

Just spamming chapter 1 of justice with permeating wrath turns a whole point into a nuclear wasteland.

Agreed on f2 being pretty bad for healing. It’s the one i use the least. F3 on the other hand, along with pure of heart and legendary lore works great. Also the tome that is best for support. allowing to both prevent enemy cc to your team because of stab spam, prevent projectiles with chapter 3 and protect them from condition damage with chapter 4.

It works because most people trying to kill the support guard don’t expect him to turn around and start defecating fireballs.

its not that easy to cleanse and get out of it. You have a big pull you can use quite often and with wrath of justice you can lock your enemy and burn them to hell.

imo, this is more like a pve specs with all the quickness buffs and stuff, i don’t think its designed with pvp in mind, mehbe that’s a good thing. its never good trying to cover 2 bins with 1 cover, right? for me, in pvp, DH is still better, because you got nice sustain via flying wings, double heal traps, f3 blocks and nice point denial via test of faith. As for firebrand, mantras and tomes are not suitable for pvp, they are either too weak, too easy to avoid, or take too long to cast, except maybe F1-tome 3 and 4, but even that, its only kinda okay and definitely not worth when compared with the DH unblockable spearpull,

Oh, and almost forgot about axe, which is fine in itself, but for a class that is supposed to stay range instead of jump in and yolo, it seems to me maybe DH should get axe and Firebrand should get bow.

The only thing I had issue is the double castes tomes, as you said.

Where with core and hot, we had instant/short cast oh-crap buttons, we now have to cast 3/4s only to gain more abilities that have to be casted before we can get any utility out of them… This is fine with something like f1, but a huge detriment with f2 and f3.

I implore the balance team to make the time activations instant, and this spec will be fine. It only feels a little underwhelming because of how strong holo and scourge are, but once don’t get toned down, everything else will be fine.

Please do not make the mistake of nerfing the op stuff while simultaneously overbuffing the specs that felt underwhelming because other stuff was op.

Just make these small QOL changes, nerf the op stuff appropriately and all will be well.

Needs to change:
Remove cast time on tomes
Fix trait-tome interaction related bugs
Adjust Renewed Focus so we can stow tome while using RF
Adjust Healing power ratios on Resolve Tome
Smiter’s Boon should work on third cast of Solace, not initial cast

Would like to see change:
Axe 3 pull work more consistently. If you change directions mid animation it misses.
edit: It seems I was misunderstanding how this skill works. Currently it just pulls things in front of you. I was under the impression it required a target.
Mantra immob trait and Slow trait seem out of place. (Some mantras are ally-aimed so immob is useless. Firebrand does not bring a ton of CC so slow seems weak compared to other 2 traits)
Liberator’s Vow becomes current Stalwart Speed. (currently Vow is only viable with mantra heal)
Stalwart Speed becomes “Gain 25% MS while wielding 1H weap, Axe 2 applies quickness”
Mantra’s either become PBAoE or larger cones.

If they took away cast times completely on this specialization, it still wouldn’t be competitive. The lack of dmg output while in f2 or f3 is ridiculous…. Axe is terrible, mantras have no range…. and neither do buffs. Just inferior to DH in every way. Needs a complete rehaul to have a chance at being competitive…

This is the second in-game iteration where tomes aren’t all that viable. They got rid of them for a while. Now they’re back. Third time’s the charm? * Fingers crossed *

The spec doesn’t have a good skill flow in my opinion. It’s like Mesmer Mantras. it feels like it’s still in an iterative design phase to be honest. i’d like to see them just used like skills with way shorter activation. I like the AoE aspect of it. IDK. Just doesn’t feel all that great. Sorry I couldn’t articulate it better.

The good start for PvP is remove the casting in Tomes, starting from this and tweak the skills variable, right now its very inviable, I dont kitten care about this Tome animations, I just want them to be useful.
