Guild Wars 2

Hey, im just curious, is it just me or is spvp not what you thought it was gonna be?i remember when all the fuzz started, whole youtube was filled with spvp, like it was gonna be the super mega best pvp game for a hundred years forward, super advertised and super events making million dollar challanges and so on.

well i just gotta say its still the best game since L2 for me, i just thought it would be alot bigger than what it is.

PS: i haven’t played any Pve or WwW, maybe those 2 just outshines spvp?

That is where the focus lies at, yes.

For me, WvW is just a pointless zerg fest and PvE is boring with poorly written shallow story and characters ( aside from few exceptions). SPvP on the other hand is still in early beta imho with no hope of getting better at all.
They should have just imported GW 1 PvP completely and have some kind of factions system with open world PvP on PvP servers and it would have been best MMORPG PvP game in history. What we have now is casual, kiddy-friendly,watered down, shallow, unfinished product with great environments, music and combat and incredibly bad everything else.

WoW didn’t have arena’s until… 1 year of release?? I think. So, yeah. Be patience.

I’ll continue playing casual from time to time which is good i guess, cuz im usually im a really competetive player, but as it is now i im happy the way it is, otherwise id be nerding alot more than whats healthy heh

I understand you, it has so much potential to be a really good competitive game. We’ll have to wait and see.

In my opinion WvW is players vs doors where you walk with a zerg to farm points and spam ranged aoe. PvE is as boring as in any other game – go and mindlessly kill mobs, so could only force myself to lvl one character, nothing special at all, buy hey, some people like killing things that do the same thing over and over again…

WoW was not aimed in becoming “A first AAA pvp mmorpg” or “…e-sport mmorpg”. So yeah, not really a comparison. Also do you honestly think that gw2 – a game aimed towards being an esport, was released with enough things in pvp, since to me it looks like a beta product used to show people what can your pvp engine do?

i said this for a lot of games. now they are not on my hd anymore.
every game has a lot of potential.

Automatically assumed guildwars to have guildwars, or atleast for it to be implemented shortly after release when they see how many old players don’t like conquest.

The PvP needs allot more than arena’s.
IMO it needed a ton more alpha testing to work out the basis for burst dps, bunkers and conquest…
Fighting someone who just runs in for a lol-burst every 30+ seconds and either wins or loses off of that isn’t generally enjoyable, fighting a stalemate bunker isn’t appealing. The game has no pug synergy short of premade level planning making it an utter pain to actually feel like you are a team in team fights.

That and they needed a flaming decent graphic desighner to make the medium armors… every one is a trench-coat??? seriously?!!?

Google would have been a good source of inspiration i didn’t find anything like I was thinking but kinda close I was thinking more of very thin leather in “straps” or so covering the entire body. (Only searched the first or second page or so).
