I’m sure this post will get deleted too since I haven’t been able to remotely post anything with a point of view or concern without anet telling me I can’t do that. But as I enjoyed the spvp in this for awhile, as many people have been complaining, there’s really no point. There’s so many different things they could add as far as rewards for progression. But for the amount of time it takes to level up through pvp, it’s not worth it just to get a new set of armor that isn’t going to look any better than the full set of free tournament token gear which took a whole hour or two for me to get. Okay so some people enjoy that all rewards are just cosmetic, which is also completely pointless since during actual pvp you’re either stuck looking like a smurf or a flaming red fruitcake. Thanks for making those 1000’s of wonderful dyes in the game utterly useless to pvpers.

Thieves…you know there’s something wrong with the game when more than half of the matches I play are at least 75% made up of thieves. Any one with half a brain can play a thief and mash one button to kill just about any target within a second or two so naturally you’re going to see a lot of bad players rolling thieves to make their lives that much easier in pvp. A lot of people complain about mesmers but I think though they are challenging to deal with, they are fine as they are. But there’s nothing more annoying than watching a thief spamming heartseeker or cloak and daggering me to my death in 2 hits before I can even react…and I roll as a tough/heal support Ele. I’m sure the devs will eventually get it, but until then I’m not going to bother with the game while they do these gradual small nerfs over and over without really even testing the changes. The previous heartseeker nerf obviously wasn’t enough and that’s a fact.

That recent patch that is supposed to prevent auto balancing when the game is far along doesn’t work at all. My last game played was 450 to 120 and it auto balanced me to the losing team. With as many bugs and balancing problems this game still has, it’s unfortunate that the GW2 population is going to really start diminishing. I really can’t even imagine any of the hardcore pvpers really caring and taking their time to reach level 80 in pvp lol. Very long grind for absolutely no reward. The game had really good potential so I’m sad the pvp turned out really bad in this game but maybe the devs will shape up in the future and come up with some better ideas to keep their pvp fans interested.

What rewards would you have give, that don’t affect game play? Better gear is fine, levelling up rank is something that happens gradually as you play a lot of pvp, it is not something to grind out.

Paid tournaments coming out will be the decider of who is better, not rank.
Not sure how or when a ladder system will be implemented, but when it is, that’s your e-kitten, not your rank.

Also thieves are fine, at least heartseeker and pistolwhip are, didn’t even really deserve the nerf, its just a baddie test really. Full glasscannon backstab might need a look at, but even as it is, its not really in the current meta, just because of how easy it is to catch one out and squish them.

No opinion on auto-balance, I only Tpvp.

Shatter mesmers are a much bigger threat to bunker ele’s than any kind of thief build IMO.

I agree about the colors though – I wish they’d find some other way to differentiate teams and let people use custom dyes.

As for the rewards: at least let use use the looks we unlock in pvp, also in pve…
Because of the coloring in pvp (which I think can be done way better than just turning everyone blue or red), you basically get to look good in Heart of the Mists.

That is very very poor as a reward.
I I unlock cool looking gear, I want to use it all the time. Without having it drwoned in a color that makes nothing stand out anymore.

Wiggely, wobbely and other wombaty wabbity creatures…

Things I say should be looked upon. As everyone said, mesmers really need a revision, their survivalbility is too high for a class that can pack a punch, confuse you irl and deal trucks of condition damage, not to mention their downed state is just too much. Thief damage from back stab should be nerfed indeed. It’s ok if they can deal with glass cannons quite quick as glass cannon should be able to do the same to them, but taking down a bunker build is just stupid.

The colors of rewards in the actual matches should be removed, seriously you can tell who is your foe just by the red name, painting them blue or red makes no real difference at all.

Rewards are fine, there is no need for things like better gear or anything related to that. As that would simply break the fine balance in gear that we have at the moment. In my opinion my best reward is the ability to compete and have fun while doing so. That is what true competition is all about imo.

Tpvp provides gems which you can use for a variety of things. What better rewards than that. Now you may say I only pvp I don’t care about lion trade gem trade or whatever. Well the answer to that is: That’s your problem, sadly your opinion is worthless when you are trying to satisfy the amount of players in game. Not trying to be offensive just realistic. Remember the game got many aspects merged into one. WvW Pvp/Pve/End game PvE/SPvP/F.TPVP/TPvp. So is not like they can focus the rewards on one aspect of the game alone. Specially when there is people like me out there who enjoys every aspect of it.

I have way better survivability than any mesmer I face. Their downed state is really simple to deal with. A lot of people don’t seem to know that you can tell the difference between the mesmer and his clones by the giant red down arrow above the mesmer when he’s downed. His clones won’t have this.

what the hell is the poster qq-in about. If u want thief-free games go play free tournamnets and see what’s wrong with the game. This is supposed 2be a fast pased action based combat. Not some Guardian and Ele afk-in on the midpoin in every map. This was a rather annoyance a weak ago , but as for now , every team MUST have a guardian and is highly important to have a elementalist build for support with the staff. When u want a competitive game and u have some classes wich are a MUST , then u have a serious problem. Thiefs can’t oneshot and have serious issues with bunker guardians , condition rangers , and allmost every tanky build in the game. People should stop crying about getting owned and Anet should start fixing kitten up , before the paid tournaments show up

The problem with mesmer downstate is that it’s the best by far in 1v1. If you get downed after my mesmer I will win because their Phantom Rogue downstate skill does tremendous damage which will allow me to rally. They can also do 20/20/0/0/30 and just wtfbbq with shatters every 15 secs doing 8-9k aoe damage on the capture point. Additionally timewarp and moa is just way too powerful in a teamfight.

If you want to nerf heartseeker for thief builds that spend 55-60 trait points in making it good what do you then do to builds that dont go full glass cannon?

the answer is you force them to also spec glass cannon. Which means you sir are fail in understanding meta game

Its not just a class vs class issues. Its Build vs Build
A glass cannon guardian vs a glass cannon thief is going to die
Stick 60 points into defensive guardian traits and the guardian will win

A glass thief can not do anything defensive. His attack is his defense. If his attack fails he is dead

A Stealth/Acrobat thief can not burst, but he is very hard to kill

People need to understand the META types and counter builds

1 mans Necro build is a thieves face roll
Another mans necro build is a thieves nightmare

Fact: 90% of players are taking any class, going full damage and sacrificing all defensive traits to get big numbers, ticks and crits and then complaining when they die

Tip for people: log in, take your class, think of the most defensive build and play on the other side of the spectrum for a while and understand counter traiting – Play different, Learn more
