Hi all ,im an average player nothing super skilled and maybe thing im going to point out are bit off for some players ,
but after 2000+pvp matches i think i can say with some confidence what things need to change.
First of all matching system for solo pvp is horrible.
Option to change your class is nice,but most players wont ever do that.

What is necessary imho is that system calculate average value for all stats and match teams accordingly with no option to change class .

On some maps changing class gives big advantage,if zou find ppl willing to do so.

Also we need option to DECLINE tournament invitation or even better if you dont accept in 20-30seconds you wont be dragged in to the match.

Considering that amount of ppl who play spvp these days is declining and sometimes you wait for match for 10 min no wonder ppl go afk.

There should be real penalty for leaving,like losing rank or something.

There should be minimum rank of 15-20 to allow players to participate in solo tournaments,there is hot join to practice,and tpvp to play no mater rank with your friends.

Next thing we need better rewards (gold,crafting exp)for playing pvp.

Dont give me already made equipment form chests but let me make my armor and gain exp for it.

After more than a year playing only pvp(lvl 55 pve character)i have 2 gold
and half achievements player which spent same time as me playng pve have…

Doesnt seam fair, or motivated to continue playing.

Any way this is main cause for ppl leaving this game imho, and it need something done about it ASP,or we will wait for next match half an hour to find ourselfs in
3vs5 or even worse set up.

Well i hope Anet will do something since its hard to find ppl to play spvp for last month and is getting worse…

I have never waited 10 minutes for a match, so that’s complete exaggeration on your part. I do agree with you, that if you don’t accept you shouldn’t be pulled into a match. You should only be placed in the match when you have 5 players who each hit “join”, otherwise you should be placed back into the queue until you have 5 players.

I think changing class before the match starts is fine, because if you get a bad group setup some members of the group can change to give you better odds of winning. Keep in mind the other team can do this too.

Matchmaking needs to improve to better reflect the actual skill of the player, and decay needs to be more permanent.

The reward system, as it is, is lacking. Personally what I would find attractive as an avid pvper would be to give us an option in the glory vendor of what we can buy. These options would include, but are not limited to;

1) Experience
-Obviously, this would be expensive, as with PvP you are already gaining “rank” experience. However, it would be nice to spend spare glory on experience on the PvE side of things. Maybe even locked-in to tournament pvp rather than hotjoin.
2) Karma
-Probably one of the worse ideas
3) Gear for PvE, at high prices of Glory or for Karma
-Rank 10 allows you to buy level 10 pve gear.
-Rank 20 allows you to buy level 20 PvE gear.
4) Coin Purses, giving more coins based on Rank.

All of these could be available from the glory merchants, and like the additional bag sizes that come for glory, they could scale up for every 10 ranks that you get.

It would be nice as a PvPer if I could level doing PVP. I absolutely love pvp, and PvE leveling is very boring to me in any game. WvW isn’t really an option because at low levels you simply get rolled.

There was a time that you could log in any time and find ppl to play with now after 03:00 till 9 or even 10:00 you can hardly find players to play with.

Aloso 90% of players refuse to change class ,they simply log in to play thief and thats it, or just play one class for reall,nothing bad about it.

To some you cant in no way explain need to change class,or even some basic thing ike essential need to cap points,some ppl just feel good whacking something.

I play all 8 so i dont have problem with this although i play some better some worse…

I don’t believe server matters, since servers are all connected by region through spvp.

I can’t speak for EU since I play on NA, but I do occasionally get 10 minute queues, but it’s pretty rare. I think I’ve had maybe three 10 minute queues in the past week, give or take a couple days.

The variance in queue time is largely due to your ranking. The matchmaker is actually pretty strict. Near the top of the leaderboard, you’re likely to get a longer wait time, as the matchmaker will not have higher ranks it can search for. There’s probably a “sweet spot” in the matchmaker somewhere high enough that there are a lot of concurrent players but low enough that there are a lot of ranks for the matchmaker to pull from.
