Fix the pulls already.
Before the core specs patch, about 40% of my out of combat pulls would fail/desync. Now it’s up to 90%. I’ve lost games because of stealth pulls not working on temple.
I’ve never had a big problem with magnet. I’m convinced spectral grasp fails because it is a projectile. If they just gave it a nice animation, and no projectile it would work better.
extra dodges, real stability, mobility skills,
burst skills, sustain, or good support. GG ANET.
Magnet doesn’t pull them fully if the target was using a movement skill in the opposite direction when the pull triggered.

Exaggeration much, it doesn’t work perfectly, but spectral grasp actually fails and does nothing all the time. I’ve never seen magnet straight up fail to do anything. I mean, that definitely needs a fix, but your exaggerating a lot.

That how magnet works right now. Ofc the percentage is made on the fly. It just really mostly make the enemy to fall over. Before tha patch it wasn’t so common but now it’s really annoyin.
I’m just here to say Scorpion Wire has this problem too, along with the projectile often being “obstructed” over flat ground.
They should probably make pulls have an animation, but mechanically shadow step your target to you then knock them down for 0.25 seconds. Have a check for stability and return a fail message instead of shadow stepping them if they have it.

There’s all sorts of weird problems with non-existent obstructions, I often have issues teleporting across flat ground due to this.

This is a game-breaking bug Anet! Magnet Pull is the main identity of engineers at the moment! If we cannot reliably pull people for our team mates to burst then that is one less reason to play engineer! Hot fix it please!

Magnet still seems to have plenty of problems with this, but yea, projectiles do seem to be worse. If Scorpion Wire actually worked reliably, I think it would see a ton more use.
It’s not just when people are moving away, it happens constantly due to terrain bugs as well. It’s all connected with the stupidity of all teleport in the game right now… there’s not a single teleport / pull that doesn’t suffer from serious glitches right now. Unfortunately for Engineers, that Magnet pull is pretty crucial to landing burst in certain builds, so it’s an often more debilitating one for us than others.

The Magnet Pull → Grenade Barrage fails have caused me more rage since the patch than mesmers and eles together. I hope there’s a way to fix it.

Yep. Magnet and Net Shot both do this 60+ % of the time.

Well he’s not exegerating by much. Magnet really does fail far more than it actually succeeds. Far more. Maybe not 19 out of 20 (altough last night during a brief bit of WvW i had a 100% failure rate, 13 out of 13 failed to pull when it did land), but absolutely more than half the time will it just knock someone on their kitten briefly without the pull.
Ever since the June patch failure rate of Magnet has gone through the roof, it is an incredibly unreliable skill that is now more likely to act against you. As the time you waste casting it costs you more time than it actually hinders the target.
3 kittenin years and pullin with anything just make a character to fall over on spot instead of gettin pulled. Is it really so hard to fix? It’s makin engies/guards 1 skill useless as kitten. Dunno bout necro cuz im not playin one.
Of course it is hard when you are ANET. Please, answer is too obvious.
