For me, the PvP change is awesome...
Agreed. I’ve had friends try to play the game with me a few times and it doesn’t take long to realize that there wasn’t anything we could play together besides hotjoins which was not fun. They quit pretty fast. Unranked queue solves that problem.
Yup, ANet has done an amazing job at letting you play with your friends in PvE. High levels can join low leveled friends regardless of their level and in many places, they can be upleveled to join you high level stuff as well. Kill stealing is never an issue and since gathering nodes aren’t exclusive to the area, there’s no conflict on who gets to mine that ore node.
It’s nice to see that PvP is getting a dose of this, for once.
Now…if only we could get the holiday PvP events to work this way as well…
hopefully this update will fix many of the sPvP issues, and get some fresh blood from PvE / WvW population as well.

I’m much in the same boat. A few of us in my guild like doing pvp but we never get a full team, plus we’re all more PvE players so if we join teamQ together we mostly just get steamrolled. So we all end up doing soloQ even if we’re online at the same time, which is quite a ridiculous situation. I’m very hopeful this change will make an end to that and allow us to play together in a more casual setting.
