I suggest some change to these 2 maps.

Forest of Niflhel: Change the beasts to go into downed state like lords do and use downed skills to try and prevent their death. They could also rally.
The reason for that is to reduce beast stealing as some classes are better at that than others.

Battle of Kyhlo: Change the trebuchets to work in a similar fashion to how Skyhammer works. Just that they would be limited to the middle control point alone and will not affect the other points. So, at certain intervals during the match both trebs will unlock and you’d need to capture them, upon capture they will fire a big volley at the clock tower that will cover the entire area and not just the point, the impact will neutralize the point.

Alternative Battle of Kyhlo: Keep trebs as they are but with one change. Make each impact of the Treb alter the control point by 25% control for the team shooting the treb.

NPC kill stealing is part of the strategy on the map. It’s ridiculous to dumb this game down any further.

I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.

Anyway…

Point taken ’bout the downed state for beasts also being exploitable. So, next idea, which I already had in my mind btw: The beasts will serve as guardians to an orb of power, once they die the orb will appear and players will have to channel it. Any damage will interrupt the channeling, similar to how the Temple of the Silent Storm channeling works. The orb will give the points and the buff that the beasts used to give.

Also I like the idea of Trebuchets being neutral, that is usable and damagable by both teams. My suggestion also included the treb control area being neutral for both trebs so this suggestion is a nice alternative, and probably way easier to implement for Anet.

the damage is ok and the cc is ok i mean you can literally see the big ball of fire coming at you, its very easy to avoid if you are using your camera well.

the damage is ok and the cc is ok i mean you can literally see the big ball of fire coming at you, its very easy to avoid if you are using your camera well.

In addition to camera,if you’re playing with sound on you can use that as well to prevent getting nuked.

My response to OP:
No. There is no reason to dumb down the game mode. If you know there’s an incoming steal then play smart. Save your CC for the enemy and/or learn how to reliably use a high damage skill to nuke the beast when the HP is low enough..

So you’re totally fine with the game being won by who snipes the beast? All other maps require fighting over objectives, that is killing each other to score the objective for your team. Forest here is the only exception, with those beasts making you shift focus over to landing the last hit on them. I say I don’t like that mechanic, and I have stolen beasts myself mind you, doesn’t mean I like it.

My opinion stays that it should be changed. The channeling suggestion I made makes it fair for all too. Fight for the objective, those who survive claim it.

Yeah,I am. The beasts can either be a liability or a benefit for your team. There’s still plenty of opportunities for a team to catch up. The game isn’t won by one team if they score both beasts once.

Making the beasts go into downed mode will still incentivize stealing. It doesn’t solve the “problem” at all. The team who steals the enemey beast merely just have to save a boon strip or a CC and secure the stomp.

Forest of nifhel: as above theives would just down both beasts. Instead make the points count on a damage dealt percentage instead of who lands the last punch. I agree that beast stealing is ridiculous.

Battle of kyhlo: Just forget the treb altogether. Tell your team if the enemy trebs just rotate to far and close hopefully in a 2v2 and a 3v2 whilst the enemy wastes their player on the treb. Treb is just noob play, get rid and put orbs up there that net 25pts if you return them to base or something.

When I sit on the treb i ask to my mates to call focus.. and we win 1+treb vs 3 at far pretty often.
But I agree that treb can be cancerous..

Neutral treb:
Your thief have just decapped far?
It’ll rush the enemy treb and use the treb to win mid!

Your don’t want to give your treb to the enemy?
Just destroy it at the start!

Okay I will admit I was being a bit harsh, was not having the best day and I shouldn’t have let it show.

For the constructive part:
I disagree with those changes because it still removes the strategic use of sniping a boss. It’s punishment for the other team not covering their boss rush properly (Verifying thief’s location on the map or going when they’re dead). It also serves to give the thief more decisions to make in a match, do they want to risk death and missing the snipe for the chance to do it right and get the points for their team? It requires timing, watching, etc. All things that I think are valuable qualities to consider when balancing the behavior of certain objects within the game. Or if the orb thing happens make the points for killing the boss and the stat buff for the orb. However, I believe it works fine the way it is now.

For the trebs: I think having them be neutral could be cool for extra risk and rotation options from using the other team’s treb but the zone shouldn’t be limited. I like how there’s a choice that has to be made when using the treb of “Do I treb and hope they survive themselves?” or “Do I go over and try to shift the fight with my own strength?”

Stealing beast is part of the strategy and frankly part of certain classes role. You are basically asking Anet to reduce requirements for map awareness even further thus making game even easier. How about no?

I was indirectly asking to Ok I Did It.2854 why with 3 random maps, where Skyhammer is the most buggy, it ask to remove beasts and treb from Forest and Kyhlo?
To only make of pvp a royal rumble?

Cause the Forset without Beasts and Kyhlo without treb it’s just like Eternal Coliseum.
