Bunker mesmers are insanely hard to kill once they get on point and I would argue that they are the best bunker gw2 has seen. Even bunker guard and shoutbow were killed when outnumbered but bunker mesmer can sustain a 2v1 for a longer period than normal while still contesting the node because evade frames do not stop point capture. Everyone is complaining about DH which is easily countered at higher elos and here we have one of the most disgusting bunkers ever made. If you have two good bunker mesmers you will beat any team due to the amount of quickness, alacrity, evades, and the time it takes to kill one is enough to have your team rotate back to help.

The truly broken thing IMO about bunker mesmer is that it overcomes the mobility problem that bunkers SHOULD have. Bunkers should be susceptible to good rotations. With portal and blink, a bunker mesmer isn’t.

Invulns should prevent capture point contribution, but since the chrono invulns are “evades” they don’t.

Also the fact that their periods of cant-touch-me do not impede their ability to contest the point.

This are infuriating to fight against…… and incredibly easy to use once you get the hang of it. Winning with it feels dirty, man :/

Chrono bunkers are not as OP as you put it here. The way to beat them is the same we used to beat turret engineers, bunker guards, and every other overly tanky build.

But why do people have to get told this every time a new bunker build surfaces? Call it engineer, guardian, whatever, it’s the same darn role, you beat it with the same tactic.

This, while they are strong, Viper Revenants can just eat them alive with their constantly strong stability stacks thanks to Enchanced Bulwark with dodging, plus Shiro can just eat through any block they put up.

Are they the best bunkers? Hell no. A lot of players don’t realize once they down a player, change targets to another vulnerable out of place one, make the bunker mesmer waste his Well of Precognition on his downed ally and you’ll soon find that the mesmer simply cannot play the rez game. But they have one thing that makes it very overpowered and that is double casting gravity well. With Alacity this super powered CC recharged much faster than it should.

In my opinion Tempests provide the best bunker support in the game with obvious weaknesses as well. Ironically, Tempest has a lot to cover the weaknesses of bunker mesmers.

Having a Tempest, Bunker Mesmer and 3 Viper Revenants and you got yourself a team that has unmatched defenses and unmatched, unstoppable DPS.

you do realize turret engineer was so bad it had to be nerfed to oblivion to prevent it from doing anymore damage to spvp right?

and comparing chronobunkers, which people have mentioned several points already as to why they’re overpowered, to bunker guards is complete nonsense when chronobunkers are dominating the meta alongside viper/cele heralds while bunker guards were simply a common build that performed decently in it’s respective meta.

just because the literal most overpowered thing in the game can beat it does not make it balanced. getting real tired of people saying stuff like this; two wrongs do not make a right.

a bunker that can bring a utility like portal to the game without losing much, if any, of it’s absurd bunkering strength is going to be undeniably the best in the game, full stop.

  • First chrono don’t stack well, so saying “the team with most chrono wins” is a lie.
  • Second, DH counters chrono bunker, so does rev, and probably reaper. Anything unblockable is a pain for bunker chrono

  • bunker mesmers rarely take portal, since it’s a sacrifice of a well. Already blink comes with a high cost.

At the end, bunker chrono is strong but not unbeatable. The main problem is that its sustained comes from blocks/evades. So if you don’t have unblockable CC, then regardless how many enemies, the chrono will survive a minimum amount of time.
