Fractal track
Nah, Fractals are one of the few things left to do that is actually enjoyable group content with scaling difficulty…
Besides, Glorious Armor is not in PvE either now is it? Why should PvP get an option to have all the shinies?
Lost? Confused? [TCS] – A guild for every state of body and mind
No. Some items should be exclusive to PvE, just like the Balthazar Backpack and Glorius Armor are exclusive to PvP.
Agreed, even if i dun like fractals, i still think fractal stuff belongs in fractals. If you could get the skins in some other fashion, fractals would soon die out i guess.

Fractal skins should honestly be more accessible than just lolbadRNG to get a skin and lolmoreRNG to get the skin you want.
But even if some Fractal reward track offered skins, chances for skins, or even Fractal relics (normal/pristine), there would still be something fully exclusive to FotM.

Should be a sigil or superior rune track. Or they should be offered in those tracks that don’t give you a weapon every 2nd completion.
I’d really like to get some superior runes and sigils but they are very pricey, wish pvp had them in reward tracks.
I agree for Fractal Track in PvP.
Ppl seem to have forgotten that Fractal skins are pure RnG, while the PvP skins ar every easy to obtain (1 day pvp and u got a skin) while a PvP’er could spend a week in fractal and get nothing.
However, to compensate the balance, I would make the Fractal Track RnG itself, so it’s not like every time you complete the track, u get a skin. But every time you unlock a 1/8 track ( a bag or a chest), you should get a chance of unlocking a skin.
Same amount of time being in fractal lv10 (skins start dropping in FoTM lv 10 and is done within 20mins)
Cheers
Terror has a good point. I agree with him. And for all you who say “pvp has exclusives, so should pve” (I’m gonna get so much hate for this) PvP actually takes skill to play (most of the time). And honestly it can be kind of difficult if someone who has never done fractals before wants to get started cause the only groups you find now are “Experts only, no condi, noobs get kicked, must have 10,000 ap and 20+ ar” Having a fractal track that is rng based like terror said will give people an opportunity to get what they want without having to deal with elitists and still getting to play the way they want. (which is what anet had in mind when they put in reward tracks for pvp in the first place)
Here, I will post my response from another thread just like this: “Here’s the issue with this. Fractal skins are RNG in Fractals. There is no “set” way to get the one you want. It’s all chance. If they implement a Fractal Reward Track it isn’t fair to people that play Fractals. See the issue? This isn’t like the dungeon tracks because in dungeons you have the ability to earn a currency that you then spend to earn a piece of armor or weapon. There is no equivalent for that in Fractals.
The only way I would be on board with this is if they gave Fractal players tokens with which to buy Fractal weapons of their choice. If that doesn’t happen then this should 100% not happen. PvP players should not have the ability to earn a skin of their choosing while Fractal players have to rely on RNG not only to get a weapon, but to get the one they want.” https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Fractal-Reward-Track/page/3#post4579422
Nothing good can come from a Fractal Reward Track unless it’s totally RNG at the end and 99% of the time you don’t get a Fractal skin. Then it would be fine with me.
I think the rng based track is what we have all agreed on if it ever gets implemented.

I get that. There is also another issue though. The PvP reward tracks use Magic Find for the chests. They would have to separately code the Fractal Track Boxes to not use MF because players that get the reward at the end of the Fractal don’t get to use their MF. The whole thing is actually really unreasonable because there are so many variables. I think my above post is still the most reasonable way to handle it. Allow players in Fractals the ability to get the weapons with a token currency. Then they could implement a Fractal Reward Track sans RNG and it would be fair.

Just same chance as PvE would be fine enough
Terrible idea. On average it takes over 900 fractal runs to get the whole collection of 19 skins. Thats all 20 30 40 50 daily for over 200 days straight.
PvP reward track would trivialize it.
Plus PvP reward tracks can be grinded on Skyhammer maps or by afking way too easily.

Wrong and wrong.
The suggestion would be to make the RnG the same as in PvE.
Second “grinding” for reward in Skyhammer maps takes twice as long and is 10 times as boring.
Not wrong. The effort for completing a reward track differs too much to make it equal.
If you make it the same chance you also would have an outrage if you need to complete the reward track over 900 times (on average) for a set. The chance at fractals lvl 50 is about 10% for a skin, but you cant choose which skin and you can get duplicates.
I think it should stay the way it is. Have exclusive rewards in PvP and PvE. I think it was a mistake to make dungeon armors available in PvP to begin with. Getting the dungeoneer achievement in PvP is much easier and faster than in PvE, which seems paradox to me.

My suggestion would be to have the same % chance and u can’t choose a skin. In fractal u can do 1 run and have a skin (like me, I had fractal shield after 1st try lv10 a year ago) while in PvP the track is quite longer and can’t be done in a day as a casual (not even in 2-3days)
And even so, it would be RnG at end of it.
Meaning: lv10 fractal is about 20-30mins (u get a chance for skins)
While a reward track, based on queue times + match durations, can be between 1 day (when full tpvp’ing AND winning all matches, which is higly doubtfull) or 2 days (when you pvp whole day with a team for utmost track points).
So casuals will have to tpvp atleast 3 days to get a CHANCE of a skin..
I think that can only be fair, with the same % drop as in fractal.
Or, as said before, fractals tokens to buy a skin..
Isn’t there some sort of fractal currency? I could see if it gave that fractal currency, that, over time, could be used on skins. But I don’t think it should be one skin per completion, though.

So with a 20 daily it would take, say, 3000 runs?
And if they made the Fractal track Tier 8 final box a lvl 20 daily box, you’d have to complete a reward track 3000 times?
Tell me more about how grinding 6000 ranks (120,000,000 rank points—for reference, rank 80 is 1,093,500, or less than 1% of the 120M) is trivial.
Don’t even mention ascended ring drops (most suck anyways) or ascended armor/weapon boxes (which pretty much don’t drop at 20)
PS: please also tell me more about how Fractal weapon skins are the only exclusive item in Fractals
PPS: Your hypocrisy about exclusivity apparently knows no bounds. At this point your stance on the exclusivity of minipets is 99.9% predictable: if you have it yourself then “it should absolutely remain exclusive as a sign of prestige and participation”, and if you don’t have it yourself “we should make it more available or I’ll never buy gems again.”

There isn’t and that is precisely the issue with having a Fractal Weapon Track. It’d have to be RNG base and the MF for PvP boxes would have to be exempt from this track to have it act like Fractals do. Some of us(me included) have done hundreds of Fractals and still haven’t gotten the weapons we want, but have gotten a bunch of one skin. That used to be OK before the wardrobe change. Now that the wardrobe is here though, multiple of the same weapon is pointless because once we unlock a skin we have it for every toon. The Fractal weapons are living in the past and have been since the first feature patch this year and ArenaNet has completely left it unaddressed. I understand why PvP players want access to the Fractal weapons, but there are tons of issues with doing it the right way and ArenaNet has a total refusal to address it. Heck, they even said that there were going to be Fractal weapon boxes at one point and then they abandoned it and refuse to go into why. It’s immensely frustrating that the drop system for Fractal weapons is still living in 2013 and we are almost done with 2014 which is a very different game.
Hello,
although I mentioned skins in my first post, I also forgot to mention man can get ascended trinkets in fractal. I do not know if their stats are specific, but if they are we should have a way to get them.
Also, isn’t there a fractal currency (relic) with which to buy soem items ? (I do not know very well).
In whihc cas, why not be able to get them in a reward track as for the other dungeons ?
Imarion
PS: I just came accross another post with the same idea:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Fractal-Reward-Track/first
I swear I did not see it before creating this post.
You can have all the ascended rings/gears you want from PvP track, but in no way hell should you get fractal skins. Also for someone who mentioned fractal tonic, the chance of getting that is basically less than 0.01% https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18IHVJao5j85KOp6lBTOgO8qs4VYD3Xty-jKPZo8o-Q4/pubhtml
which is absurd. And you complain about how difficult it is to grind pvp track? Basically you are getting rewarded with rank points/new finishers, getting champion boxes without having to spend a silver while doing what you like.
For pvers, getting to 50 means already investing 200~600 gold just on armors, then grinding fractals for Agony infusions, finding the right group and learning every single encounters and to get sometimes nothing, most of times useless rings, and ascended chests that pvers already made so there is no use for it anyways.
Ah and please tell me how pve isn’t really “skill” because I haven’t seen any of those pve bashers actually participating in speed run or record runs. Learn different aspects of game, suffer through the crazy RNG.
And don’t even mention the fractal tonic because that doesn’t exist. That is more of winning the lottery for mega billions instead of working at it.

Ahh that makes sense. If it is literally all RNG to get these skins then it doesn’t make sense to introduce a for sure way to get them that isn’t the main game mode.
I made an Excel sheet to calculated how long it takes to get all 19 fractal skins (average) based on the guild [KING]s research data.
lvl 20 daily – 1774 runs
lvl 30 daily – 1466 runs
lvl 40 daily – 695 runs
lvl 50 daily – 592 runs
If you do all dailies every day its 914 runs on average for the full set. 228 days of doing all 4 dailies straight.
If Fractal Chest would be added to the game it would take 167 runs of lvl 50 on average for the set.
scrublord pvpers dont need access (any access at all whatsoever) to fractal skins/backs/tonic. we already have scrublord pvers lucking into a skin on their first level 10 run. run fractals if you want that stuff.
yeah im an elitist prick for saying it, but dont even try to wreck one of the few bastions of extremely exclusive time and dedication rewards. pheonix/dragon finishers are already ruined and im sure you wouldnt want to see glorious heros armor passed out to filthy casuals who dont even play your game mode.
as for pink gear? dont care, suggest whatever you want. its too expensive to craft/buy and too random to earn, and the only truly reliable method to earn any pieces (rings) is obsolete by the time your personal reward level is 50.
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions

Isn’t this an indication that the exclusivity argument is already a joke? How often do you find someone with a Fractal skin and actually think “This guy must do a lot of fractals” or “This guy must be good at Fractals”?
Hardly anyone will ever take the exclusivity argument seriously so long as low-rate RNG plays a role and skins are available at lower levels anyways.
Perhaps your bitterness is better directed toward efforts to get them to implement the Fractal box, or even simply ensure that you never get duplicate skins, both of which would reduce grind by over 70% and still not decrease your precious exclusivity.
Maybe it’s not the best idea to be participating angrily in a thread about an idea that has next to zero chance of happening (at least not until the current low-RNG/duplicate issues are addressed). This thread is more meant at opening a dialogue about Fractal weapons outside of the Dungeon forum, and that’s almost never a bad thing as that forum gets no substantial attention from ANet.
