hello as you already might know anet has added asscended gear which is supposed to be a hard gear to get for basicly free from pvp the shards are way to easy to get, also what is better spend 600-800 gold on full set or play pvp for 1 day for full set ? this needs some heavy nerfing.

Its been out two days so you should have 2 full ascended sets, show us some pics of that awesome armor at least.

It costs 1450 Ascended Shards and 920 Shards of Glory for a full set. So not free.
The first two reward tiers award 150 shards each, the second two 200, and the last two 250.

The play for the gear is about on par for how often it drops in Fractals or farming Magnatite shards in raids. Anet just needs to add the ability in WvW and then we’re golden.

Ascended gear is only hard to get if you make it hard to get. I crafted 3 of my four sets and am quite happy to work towards these other sets to gear my alts rather than do fractals or raids. Choice and options are good.

You don’t get all shards in 1 day not to mention you can do quick fractal runs (t4 is not that hard really) and couple raid bosses if you are in a guild. You also have chance to get ascended from reward boxes. I geared few characters for raiding with barely any crafting done actually.

i know all of this and have been doing it alot i have over 50 chests in my bank ascended gear isnt an issue for me it still doesnt change the fact pvp is basically giving end game gear for free, you also made no point in your response.

it´s good. Now a player can get it better from playing without raid/guild groups.

Where are your full sets then? I played straight for 2 days and less than 1k shards. Whereas I could have spent a day doing full clears and get ascended piece from raids, or get drops from t4 fracs. Besides, why so afraid of others joining your exclusive club, it is all acc bound and cannot be exploited for gold.

You do have long time to get stuff if you want to work so much, namely the +9+5 stats infusions.

EDIT: the byzantium chest stops giving shards on first repeat according to reddit. Therefore this is even less of an issue, or is 20 gold for like 20 matches a lot too?

Seeing how you can’t even get a full set in the whole season….. how can you get a full set in a single day? Or are you making wild claims because you are upset that another game mode has an option to receive Ascended that Isn’t PvE/WvW?

if its only enuf shards for one set of gear per season then its fine otherwise it would have been a huge advantage to pvp guys …

You can’t even get a full set, let’s do a little math.

The first two chests are 150 shards ea so 300, the two second tier chests are 200 ea so 400, we are at 700 shards total and the last two chests are 250 ea for 500 and a grand total of 1200 shards in one season.

Lets look at The Ascended costs starting with Armor, Gloves 150, Helm 150, shoulders 175, Chest 400, Legs 275, feet 150. For a grand total of 1300 shards needed for a complete set of Armor. This does not include trinkets or weapons.

Now let’s include weapons and trinkets, weapons are 250 ea for 1H or 500 ea for 2 h so 500 total for one weapon set so since most characters have two weapon sets that an additional 1000 shards needed so a total of 1800-2300 shards, Then you have your trinkets rings at 200 ea so 400, necklace at 175, accessories at 150 ea so 300.

For a grand total of 2675-3175 shards for a full set of Ascended Gear.

Which means to get a full set of Ascended items from shards it would take 2.2 to 2.6 seasons which would be at a minimum 6 months since season timeframe and offseason time gate.

Pics of getting Full Ascended set in 1 day or it didn’t happen. SMH the hyperbole is strong with this one. ^

Free would be me sitting in HoTM just chatting and all of a sudden I get ascended gear. I actually have to play PvP. By your arguments I could say Fractal players get “free” ascended gear also just by doing fractals.

How is it for free? If it is for free then the gear you can buy for magnetite shards is also for free (there are actually groups that farm certain encounter for shards lol)…… You need to play a lot of pvp matches to get enough shards to be able to buy few pieces – that is hardly free. That is a lot of time spend – how is it different to multilooting AB or running mindless zerg in WvW?

You said you can get whole set in 1 day – you can’t. It was my point. You also can’t buy full set since amount of shards you can get is capped.
