…is just terrible.
Played 10 games today (just citing today, but it’s kinda always the same), trying to do the monthly achievement, and got EVERY DAMN TIME against organized guild groups.
Now, my guild doesn’t do any sPvP (they mostly do WvW), so how am I supposed to do this?

So… can you PLEASE fix the damn matchmaking, anet?
AT LEAST until you fix it remove the “tournament victory” requirement from the monthly achievement and swap it for a “tournament partecipation” (maybe with a greater requirement).

you are supposed to find a team. i am not sarcastic and i feel your pain.
you are not wrong about matchmaking..but right now my answer is the most polite/smart answer you should receive.

I know you’re right, both on finding a team and the tone I’m expecting from most answers.

Anyway, I’m not seeing myself finding a team right now in a reasonable time.

There is no matchmaking. They’ve said it’s their highest priority feature wise for pvp; but it likely won’t happen until January or February. As for getting your monthly, try actually pugging (assuming you’ve been solo queuing). Even if you face an organized guild group, a decent pug with decent communication and solid comp can reliably beat a lot of the guilds that spend their time in frees.

Agree with OP so much. One of my worst experiences in this game since launch was trying to get that Monthly.

The reward is 5 salvage kids, boosters and tournament tickets. It’s really not worth the nightmare of trying this as a pug group.

I think I needed to do 14 attempts to get 3 victories, and even when we did have a match with pug groups, we were outnumbered because not everyone entered the tournament when called.

Remove it from monthly or change to 5 tournaments participated please!

Eventually, the only players left will be you and the others who share your smug attitude about something that is clearly plaguing this game. I’m sure you have a good team that you run with nightly, congrats. Maybe you will thoroughly enjoy your nightly paid queue that may never pop…

Problem is their whole paid tournament idea failed miserably. Those organized people were supposed to play paid tourneys, and others, more casual would be on free tourneys. Yet another fail prediction from Anet.

There is no match making at all. Pretty sure it just throws teams in based on the order they queued up for the tournament. No sorting by ranks or by how how “premade” your team is.

If you pug, just accept that you will lose more often than you win. You will almost assuredly lose against any team, since they will have streamlined roles and probably be using a chat program to communicate efficiently.

If anet ever shapes up and adds solo/team ranked queues, we might see an increase in the sPvP population, but tbh, i expected that to be added like a month ago, so i’m not holding my breath. They seem to really like this dumb tournament format, that no one aside from them seems to enjoy.

Agree 100%.

To say something a match between a rank30-40 premade and a team of rank 10 pugs doesn´t benefit any of them.
