So …
Friends and SPvP.

When you hotjoin a game you can only join solo .. Check.

You can join your friend by right clicking and clicking on Join Friend in PvP .. Check

You might be on the opposite team as your friend and need to team change .. Check – thats fine.

You can stay with your friend into the next match until you give up .. Check

Back to you might be on the opposite team. Its not really a you might. It is an over 20 games in a row on 5 differernt nights (so around 100 matches) we were on the same team once and had to change the 99 other matches.

I understand why we get thrown around. But seriously is there code built in to make you on opposite teams when you are in a party or are we just very annoyed and unlucky?

Before you say Go to TPvP, we do TPvP with our guild. But sometimes you just want to play together, try out combos etc etc and you cant do that easily. Trying to get another friend into pvp and his reponse is, no point, no character reward, cant be on same team in hot join, not going to happen.

ROFL, omg i thou ght me and my friend were the only ones experiencing this.

The last two saturdays (only times we really played) we were on the opposite team every match for over 5 hours straight. Then it broke and we were on the same team….1 time…5 hours of gaming.

Then last time we only had a few hours we were on the same team the first game and then never once again. It HAS to be coded to make sure your not on the same team.

EDIT: with that said, TSPVP is the answer, you’ll always be on the same team on that…honestly that was the only reason we started queing it instead.

Here’s what is on the horizon (from what I’ve gathered from Anet’s posts); replace hotjoin with custom games that will give players the option to toggle off the auto balance feature (no rando teams), implement a casual queue similar to tPvP but without rating/leaderboards.
Hoping for custom games and spectator mode by the end of the month. They REALLY need to get those features in so that we can start to practice shoutcasting with their spectator mode before big organizations start trying to host tourneys -which will begin to happen much sooner than I think anyone (even Anet) realizes. One of my biggest fears right now is noobcasting a tourney the week after spec mode releases.
