I just saw they are getting rid of more amulets because they dont like the direction the amulet pushes game play.

Can someone tell me who played other Esports games or high competitive online team games if this is how things are done. I dont understand why removing amulets balances the game.

They release GW2 and change a ton of stuff and right before HOT it was pretty close to a ideal meta.

You had d/d ele best all around build, staff ele best bunker ele build, a conjure ele (before the nerfs) who could beat d/d ele and gave great team weapons.

Bunker shout guardian, dps medi guardian and burn guardian

MM necro and signet necro

Dps gs/hammer warrior and shoutbow warrior

Heck i even saw bunker thieves and of course the dps thieves

Does anyone else notice that we have none of that? In season 1 of PvP everyone knew what they were facing when the pressed B and saw the classes they were facing. 95% of the time you knew what you were facing and they make post about amulets. We played a entire meta of bunkers and revs and im frustrated with those comments.

I dont go on reddit and i have them on my facebook but there is never a talk about build diversity and talks about classes having the ability for different play styles or counters to another class. GW2 core game is so spot on and the game play is awesome but everything just feels cheap since the HOT release.

Sometimes an argument of extremes has to be made to make a point. PVP always had limited choice in gear because of the demand it be a game of skill rather than one of equipment over skill.

Further changes to that gear made to change the type of combat that in fact occured so in any given matchup there an endgame rather then a fight that was just one stalemating another.

To get perfect balance so that any game is a match between pure skill of the individuals then both must wear the exact same gear and both must in fact play the exact same profession.

That is not really going to happen but in pursuit of that mystical balance, designers and many players seem to feel that gear must be standardized.

Some are calling for the same types of restrictions on gear to be introduced into WvW. that the last thing I want to see. Keep it here in PvP and I will avoid PvP while those people who prefer the format of standardized equipment can find that in pVP.

Things have gone down hill since the since june or july patch (idr date exactly). Thats when all the warriors/theifs were basically forced out of pvp and we were left with condi spammage for months, after the condi spammage came bunker spammage, and now we have 7k one shot spam… GG Anet, CoD style gw2, 1~2 shot kills, passives out the kitten , and zero skill builds that can do amazing even if they are facing a player that has much more experience then them.

before HOT it was pretty close to a ideal meta.

0% ranger representation in tournaments for years? Auto-lose if you have more than 1 thief OR mesmer on your team? Guess you played ele…

The meta changes. Ideally all professions are allowed to participate. Elite specs are obviously power creep, but maybe we’re heading to a point where all professions are allowed to play.

A few teams had a ranger. The team i was on at the end there had a ranger. Also right at end on 1 of the ESL tournaments a team had 2 power rangers in the finals and the abjured countered it by going with 2 engys.
