ESL Funday Monday

On August 31st, we’re summoning all Necromancers from the dark depths of the Underworld to battle each other for the top spot in our Funday Monday cup!
This is the 5th class specific cup so keep your eyes peeled for your favourite class, because we do these quite often or take advantage of the opportunity to really test yourself at the Necromancer!
The top two players of each class will go into our grand final, where they will compete for ultimate victory. Who will prove themselves master?

The rules specific to this cup are:
- Banned Amulets: Celestial, Soldier, Crusader, Cavalier, Knight, Settler, Barbarian, Sentinel, Cleric and Magi

- Necromancers are not allowed to have more than 20% life force at start

- No elites over 120 seconds

- No Dwayna runes

- Map: Forest of Niflhel – Beach area

- RO32 and RO16 are Bo1, Quarters and Semi-Finals are Bo3, Grand-Finals are Bo5

Soldiers banned but not sentinels?

That’s alot of banned amulets lol.

No elite over 120 seconds. So you could just say, flesh golems only. No dwayna runes lol

Inb4 Valk gets banned too!

Big thumbs up for banning Crusader amulet, that thing was so stupid in the elementalist 1v1 tournament.

I don’t think they’ll ban valk because it has only one defensive stat and its minor (knight has toughness as its major stat), they’d have to ban carrion and rabid if they ban valk.

Necros don’t really have the option to build for sustain and damage, unless they can use cele amulet. I think they may have gone a little to far with the amulet bans. Should be different for every class.

I’m garunteeing a Valk amulet build with the cele signet build traits probably wins this.

Lack of sustain is the whole point of these bans. Nobody wants to watch a duel that lasts 2+ mins and those never occur in real matches anyway (before being +1d). Sustain builds allow more mistakes to happen, while the amulet restriction ensures people are properly punished for misplays or rewarded for skillful play instead of death by boredom.

Oh sorry, thanks for reminding me that it’s perfectly reasonable for a skilled necromancer to be one-/two-shot by another necromancer, where both necromancers meet the 1v1 requirements.
