Why should you never let a yak handle your paper clips? —Because Yak’s Bend!

I am not sure if this is even something I should be worried about, but what will happen to the gear in my PvP locker (some gem store-bought items included) when sPvP and PvE gear is integrated? Will it just convert to PvE status and I can keep it in there?

We don’t know and don’t expect Anet to answer that question, YET. They are savign it for the big disappointment.
Also one of the devs said something on the lines of “it would be wise to keep building up your collection.”
So…with that in mind, I would assume that means we will get to keep it all…

Q: Will we eventually be able to use PvP rank/cultural/dungeon armor skins in PvE/WvW?
A: Yes, players will eventually be able to take their looks across game modes; however, this will not be happening as a part of the maintenance build on March 18th.
This is the closest I’ve seen to an answer. Granted, it isn’t specific enough to make me 100% sure that we are in the clear that our current sets will transfer. You could read this to mean that, eventually being after the conversion, the gear you get will work across game modes. Or it could mean the gear you have now will be interoperable.
I don’t know, but this is me trying to help.
I’m hoping PvE/PvP skins will be able to be used together. The Masquerade (tribal) set is just waiting to be mixed with ascended skins.
The easiest and most convenient solution would be for the PVP locker to be used across all modes. Maybe that’s why they said filling up the locker would have some value. Maybe unlocking skins to put into the locker in PVE would involve transmutation stones while in unlocking it in PVP it will work the way it always has.
Gear may become skin unlocks to be reusable an infinite amount of times.

that’s really optimistic

Excellent, thank you!

that would be the smart solution but … tbh we going to loose everything or some crap like that becouse you know who cares about spvp rigth?

The system is there with achievement gear unlocks so for pvp I think it would be good.
Edit: Just remembered the town clothes tab and the pvp outfit tab. So for pve just enable the pvp outfit tab to replace your in and out of combat appearance.

Hmm but will the pvp armor be introduced into pve regardless if you pvp or not? As in, if you don’t pvp much or at all, can you still get specific exclusive armors that have only stayed in pvp (up until when this patch comes obv) without having to pvp?

Meh, there’s only a few pieces that are PVP exclusive and as far as I remember, they aren’t even that hard to get. Stalwart’s for example, you can get from mystery coffers. Or you can craft it from tournament tokens. You’ll just have to bear through a few matches of PVP.
