You can pat yourselves on the back, knowing you’ve nerfed wars. Truly, the nerf did nothing more than push the rest of wars in pvp to the alternate war meta.
With the new heal it’s gg for spvp. Stance wars with longbow/ sword+sword or sword+shield wars are the top now.
Wars overall are the specialist of everything.
Stability? Check.
Invulnerability (evade)? Check.
Top Health Pool? Check.
Top Condi Cleanse? Check.
Best Heal Abilities? Check.
Top Stun Breakers? Check.
Condi damage output? Check.
Most Mobility? Check.
Shortest Weapon Swap? CHECK.
I don’t need to list every ability because most of us know that these statements are true. Adding Defiant Stance was the tipping point for me in spvp. There’s zero weaknesses. You can’t face tank, can’t cc, and you can’t range a warrior. Bursting is impossible.
Every profession has a visable weakness.
Necro- Horrid mobility. Their damage can be kited.
Guardian- Low health pool for being a heavy. Starve them of boons and it’s gg.
Mesmer- Damage relies mostly on phantasms. Burst aoe them (like lets say a war has) and it’s gg. Also, auto attacks are the poorest in game.
Ranger- Well it’s Ranger. Hotmess.
Thief- Everyone wants to make them a less stealth and more fight profession, but truly lack the ability to do so. They’re the easiest profession to burst.
Engineer- Engi is at a good spot. The only possible area I see is they need more options for melee fighting. Bomb kit and grenades are the closest thing to it.
Elementalist- They need more variety. Dagger/dagger is pretty much the best and only choice. Staff is shotty (only good for massive node fights) and scepters lacks the damage output.
Moral of the story. Even though you did minimal nerfs; you’ve given them love back this patch with Defiant Stance. Also, if someone is invulnerable they need to sacrifice something in return. You shouldn’t be able to put out damage. The whole to point of invulnerability is to negate an opponents attacks. Example; Renewed Focus (Guardian), Mist Form (Elementalist), Protect Me! (Ranger), Elixir S (Engineer).

warriors are not godlike, they can be defeated.
defiant stance has a 3 second duration or 4 seconds with sure footed trait.
and a 35 seconds recharge time.
that’s a 32 seconds or 31 seconds down time.
are you telling me you cannot defeat a warrior without healing signet under 30 seconds?

4 second defiant stance. 5 second endure pain. 10 second berserk stance. Equals 19 seconds of invulnerability to something. You’re telling me of the 30 seconds you’re talking about; 19 of those seconds you’re sol is no big deal/nothing to see here?! At least with stability it can be removed. Invulnerability… you can not. So Yes, I’m telling you that you can’t burst a warrior down in 30 seconds. It’s a rinse/repeat cycle of invulnerability. All a warrior has to do is know the burst skills of his opponent and use them at that time. Any other profession can’t do that.

endure pain does not stop conditions. 55 seconds down time.
berserker stance does not stop burst damage. 50 seconds down time.
stop attacking a warrior with defiant stance and he will only receive the minimal 3k ish health healing. 31 seconds down time without any healing.
warriors are not god like, they can be defeated.

not every warrior can do that yes? i certainly don’t.
i’m noob warrior. i never use those so called “god mode” skills.
i use for grape justice, shake it off and fear me!
they still kill me anyway since i am not god mode.
i called that skilled play (not me, i is noob warrior ok?) since it requires pressing of buttons to activate the right skills in the right time versus the right person.

Not sure what all this Longbow Sword sword stuff is. I was playing 0/0/30/10/30 “HGH” Hammer/Longbow and tearing kitten up in yoloques o.o Soldier’s ammy+zerker jewel Might duration runes and Battle sigils. Keep 25 might, 4000 attack and beat the kitten out of people. I’m not sure if it’s “OP” but its fun as all hell.
Bads still complaining about warriors I see. Defiant stance is trash in spvp, just saying.

I just wanted to say that heal is like what? 1.6k heal + absorb over 3 seconds? 30 sec cd or so? (Can’t remember off top). But regardless.
In 30 seconds healing signet can heal for 12k over 30 seconds. You’d have to do 11k damage/healing within the 3 second window in order for it to be better than healing signet. And if you did 11k to a warrior in this stance…. You must have been trying. o.O

Guard lowest hp, ele lowest hp warrior highest hp.Warrior op since launch ?Lost count how many threds tried to justify something with such an irrelevant fact.As i already statwd before warriors would gladly trade 5000 of their hp and 180 toughness for clones, stealth, protection, teleports, blind,waterfields or passive ai spam.

extra HP and toughness is not main reason why wars are so stupid… giving wars stealth, clones etc, on top of the package that they already have would just put them on absolute god status

Your info is wrong on healng signet. Watch it carefully when it has no adrenaline. There is a large window healing signet does not tick directly after combat. This is the biggest mistruth i see. Ppl assume healing signet works every second regardless, it doesn’t. Place it in the broken skill list.
Mark my word on this and test. Look at your health after combat and it still stay exactly the same for 17-20ish seconds until regen begins and then it kicks back in.

Haha so i am not as crazy as a fox afterall :d.Once it happened to me un wvw and i was like wtf.But considering i play pvp/wvw for over an year and use specifically block build since for over 8 months i believe the chances of that occouring is really really one in over 1000000..Is hard to get it especially since scepter mesmers are also rare.Funny stuff no doubt

Warriors are still king. Not seen that heal being used much tho. Healing signet still best heal in game. The class is the definition of easy mode, there is no skill involved. Well done anet you failed to nerf any of the meta. (3x warrior, spirit ranger and guard). How hard was it to nerf healing signet/spirits.
I remember Jonathan Sharp saying a good indicator a class was imbalanced is if you had 2x of them on a team.
That’s still what I see….
Then again, I haven’t seen Sharp on the forums for a while. Maybe they canned him.
