I’m sure this has been mentioned before, but I really would like to see this feature come in soon with the Leagues system (or shortly after).
Being able to watch friend’s matches or your own can help improve player-skill and can be fun
Or it could be extremely unfair because you could be on TS with that person and tell them everything that’s happening.

In this case, why not just record the matches and analyse them with your friend afterwards…
if you ever played heroes of the storm, it records all your matches in a low size format (quality is very good though) and when you rewatch it you can move around the camera and look at whatever you want, pause, resume etc. if you just record your game with a program that’s not possible.
GW1 observer mode was really great. You watch all the tournaments in the game and move camera where you wanted it not relying on a streamer to move around.

multiple perspectives, although replays would be just as good as spectating tbh.

As others have said, there is a delay when you spectate as intended in GW1.

That’s assuming everyone had the ability to record and share, which not everyone has. It’s a lot more simple to just spectate within the game.

Because you don’t get to see others.
GW1 had this. It was great. There’s no argument against it. Stop.
GW1 spectator mode was fantastic and allowed you to watch and re-watch games from different perspectives every time at any point you wished. You could watch GvG tournament games on demand, etc. It was really neat and allowed newer players a good reference to help them to learn how to play their classes/builds.
I was disappointed there isn’t something as comprehensive in GW2. GW1’s spectator mode was way ahead of its time.

This is really what most of us are asking for. Doing video capture strains the hardware and only gives you one perspective per player. ArenaNet should allow the matches to be observed after the match ends enabling the observe to select any player on either team and watch the match from their perspective. We had this in Guild Wars 1 for GvG matches and everyone who took the game seriously observed matches with their team and analyzed for improvements (in many aspects GW1 was more ready to go full e-sport than GW2 continues to be because of the absence of features like this).
As it stands now, Teams that can afford to invest in the equipment to have each player stream can do private sessions from each players perspective. This is a lot of work and has created a scenario where players with better hardware using outside tools have a huge advantage over players not doing this.
