For the people that don’t want to watch this video and just want to read here it is
GW2 right now is in the dark on what is going to happen with the game. I hear a lot of negative things about the game on why it is going to “DIE!” I disagree with these things and made a video on what I think the game is currently doing. Those players that where NOT around during PRE-HoT this video is for you. Even if you where around during PRE-HoT I want you to know you are NOT alone on feeling as I do about WvW / ESL. The ESL scene was very rushed and I truly hate to see players that I enjoyed watching leave. Even with all the negatives I still think this game will be OK and as long as they focus on the things that made it the BEST MMO at one time. It can recover and take ANOTHER shot at the scene. I watched your video. In my opinion WvW died because the populations were vastly unbalanced.

I was once a passionate WvW player, but it got boring seeing a blob coming at me and being outnumbered 20-1 , yet again.

I came to PvP hoping for more balanced play. Sadly.. that hasn’t really worked out either.

I hear your enthusiasm for teams, but I don’t see it working out in PvP for the time being. 4 seasons of deliberately unbalanced matches drove too many people away.

See the common theme here? No one likes to get hammered and feel they didn’t have a fair chance. I hope that ANET takes that to heart.

WvW died because servers were not competitive, ive been on CD the whole time.

At 1 small point we were T2 server and we got squashed by Kaieneng all those eyars ago.

We had 3 big WvW guilds with a few medium sized ones. One week they all got into a fight and they all left the CD server. They all transferred to higher tier servers.

So here we were a competitive T3 server that fell to T5-6 in weeks because guild were straight leaving.

Among other issues in WvW but to me Anet didnt even care to look at WvW population.

The PvP scene is so icky right now im surprised you can say this. Did Anet come out with the new specs? Did you see them?

Because S1-4 were bad and this past season had NA players cheating the system. People will blame the cheaters but i blame Anet since this was there 5TH SEASON.

Here we are coming up on S6 PvE is losing players because the lack of story and explorable areas for small casual groups. WvW is dying which is obvious and PvP is losing Pro players as well as the casual player. PvP has lost all build diversity and the ability to even run a different team comp.

Like MO said if you play WvW or PvP, you must play PvE.

So i guess you are correct in saying GW2 isnt dead but its a 15 year old kid who fell in a well and no one seems to know where Billy went.

To me, GW2 was at it’s best when it wasn’t trying to be league of legends, you know what I’m talking about, the super competitive PVP game everyone talks about.

That isn’t what makes GW2 a great game, what makes it great ss the beautiful art direction, the combat is quite fun and there’s a little of something for everyone. It brought me people I would’ve never talked to together because there were different game modes for all our taste.

Just a few years ago there was a lot more creativity in builds, sure there were some OP ones like turret engi but it felt a lot more diverse. They’re slowly getting better, made some bad decisions with HoT I can definitely see that. But in the end I want this game to succeed and get better because it’s given me a unique experience.

This is a structural problem. This is a MMO. We play with friend and other. No Friend!? No people!? No Game!
