GW2 site ToG News
It was good to see it on the site, but the average player DOESN’T VISIT THE WEBSITE! Grouch kinda half-said that the TOG finals would receive in-game advertisement, and I didn’t see anything today, except for the magic find buff on my stat bar. My guildies were asking what it was!
Just have an in-game message flash across the screen, or an in-game mail or something! Come on!
who won the tog eu bros?

Message of the day.. I already made that suggestion. A message in the chat that would appear everytime you log in/switch characters in the chat with important news.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.

The “Tournament of Glory” event in the top right can actually be clicked and takes you to the stream. I’ll do a better job of making that more clear the next time I get a batch of these implemented. All in all, I think it was a great start and a great test for the system.
The “yellow text” system alert is not something we want to use for these events, as those are broadcasted across the entire game, regardless of if you’re in a dungeon, doing living world, or whatnot. We want it to be as noninvasive as possible. Someone mentioned having an NPC in the Heart of the Mists that shouts upcoming events, and I think it’s an interesting idea. I’ll bring it up with the team.
Thanks for the feedback, I’m definitely listening.
Anet already has architecture for in-game web browsers for their TP, why can’t they just make a locked window that accesses their Twitch stream? :/
Then you could even watch it in-game.

I wish the icon up there shined and shaked a little like rewards did, especially during times when the tourny’s are active, I honestly didn’t even notice it until blu pointed it out. It’s a fantastic start, but still needs to draw some more attention to itself.

I’m confused on why being “invasive” is bad. The scene is struggling, it helps it when a bunch of ppl show up for tournaments and witness good solid games. So what if it takes up a line in the chat, while in your dungeon, livingworld, etc…. I remember winning HA in gw1, displayed a yellow message while in a dungeon, or other elite zones, and GUESS WHAT, while in pve, it didn’t bother me or anyone else in the party.

Any chance we could ever get a chat message in game similar to the Hall of Heroes from GW1? It’d be cool to hear about big tournament wins in game like that.

Grouch, great job so far and hope they listen to you to improve pvp even further.
Now, a suggestion.
- A mail.
Thats it simple , its ingame and already well used.
Im a pvper and i didnt know what icon took you directly to stream if u clicked it ingame. So the mail could be a notifier a day before, that just circles the icon – like scouts in PVE show u where to go.
I think that wouldnt be invasive to anyone and while making it easier to find the stream for those interested. A pvp tournament finals are once every 3 months , while a pvp only player may get PVE living story mail every 2 weeks just saying
