Alright if I were an arenanet dev this is what I think one should do :
First off play rift and experience the battle for port scion, see something similar to gvg made in a game that plays very similar with no healers and one hit wonders.
BUT do not, and I repeat DO NOT copy that game mode, just look at it don’t rush and make that game mode, it will suck, and I cannot stress this enough, IT WILL SUCK. It will turn out something similar to the forest of nifhel I think the lord map is called, no do not do that.
After you play port scion rewatch my video and listen to it.

Now, think of instead of a cap point a point that instantly changes over when one team is on it / pushes through. If both teams are on it it instantly flips to neutral, this is not a normal cap point at all this is the biggest thing here NOT A NORMAL CAP POINT, this is a very active cap point that gives morale when your team is really feeling that morale, it is a real morale.
There doesn’t even have to be two other cap points, these were just territories that could award more points to the majority of the team standing in them while they are holding the center. This is hard to explain through typing to get the exact idea.
When you think deeply about how this would work and let it sink in you will then realize, this system really puts a score as to who is winning. There is a solid tie breaker better than guildwars 1’s tiebreaker and it shows whose really killing who, whose really being more aggressive and pushing the other team back.
and i repeat if you play port scion this will only be something like the idea but this is not a territorial based gvg, what i am saying is how to replicate gw1 gvg in this type of mmo and not create something that looks poorly done that will play nothing like it based off a cap point.
This is why I say play port scion, you will see how the cap points don’t make a good playstyle to replicate gvg and this is why I thought up something entirely different that WOULD.
I did put in an application, however I don’t really expect to get hired, I would also be good in balance as well as creative thinking of stuff to do. Another thing I liked is when I heard something about zombie waves it made me think differently about end game.
Imagine a spot in cursed shore that would teleport you somewhere lets jsut say for instance teleports you to ring of fire would be one of the locations, now I wouldn’t use zombies or the endgame monsters I already forgot thier names in this zone but I would for a zone near cursed shore.
When you teleport to this pve instance with your team or solo, it would start something similar to an event, that send waves of the zombies or monsters in the game, each 5 waves would send a mini boss and each ten waves would send a boss.
This could be coded to literally go on forever and keep adding more and more monsters per wave, be laddered/have a scoreboard, it would also be quite rewarding.
I’d like to see both this in pve and gvg, and I think this stuff is what this game needs. The waves thing would be something different to play as far as pve goes, and it would be fun to see how far you could go with friends and try to beat the amount of waves another team has done. Maybe even add some kind of prize when you do beat the top amount of waves.
I don’t see this as something that should be added to the game I see this format as what is needed for the game. You can pretend everything is fine but the playerbase in the spvp should already be near the level of what guildwars was at when it was considered dead in gvg about 4 or 5 years into it. I’m not even sure if random arenas ever got this dead but I haven’t logged into guildwars one in about a year or so, maybe after the guildwars 2 release, which people are already going back to gw1, so it will probably get back above this games level in no time within two to four months or so numbers wise.
