Get Defensive abilities
ever heard of immobilize? ^^
and something that breaks immobilize
How can i get stability as a thief? Oh wait I dont play thief LOL
lol, i am trying to learn thief, but so far my understanding is that stealth and entering exiting combat, is the primary defensive ability of thief.
All this posts about “Get the xyz for the xyz” im sure they are made with good intentions… but please we are so dumb that no one ever thought about it? The stuns and immob in this game is over the top in some classes and that’s is a truth for me. As an elementalist against a warrior for example i must timed perfectly every single skill and if the war stuns me then… i’m dead. And yes i have a stun breaker, some times i have 2 of them. some times 3. in a average cool down of 40 secs. Do the math
so, we all have to get condi clears stunbreaks AND stability just because of warrior? and you think that is fine? lol
every class in this game can pin, stun, or knockdown. every class in this game has the counter. If your against a build that has an excess of cc, then they are lacking elsewhere. I have an extremely hard time with messmers, and necros. Insted of meeting them head on, i remember that tactics, and landing a good first blow can win a fight.
Please tell me where the warriors is lacking. I’ m really interested in this.

lol, i got condi cleanse because of necros, i got stability because of necros, i have both now all the time ,because it is basically a “combo breaker” if you understand

Well, mobility is pretty obvious if you’re talking about hambow.
Guys do you ever have duel with a GOOD war? No the kids that they have 5 hours on their war. A good one no pro just good. Create an elementalist and give it a go. Then come and tell me about the damage, mobility armor and condi rem in comparision.
I have duel wars and in tourns and in 1v1 servers. I have watch other classes duel them. Wars have everything and sacrifice very little. Not all the builds of course. but 2-3 of them are very punishing with the mistake i will do and very forgiving for the constant mistakes the war will do. And again i’m not QQing about wars being OP etc. The fact is that they were very hard class to play months before. I don’t want the class to become so hard again. But i want the class to be toned down.
For example, today i was in skyhammer and the operator was a war. I burst him ( zerker amulet 70% critical change with fury 60% critical damage ). And he was like afk, after his health dropped about 20-30% he poped his stance and he started to hammering the place. Thats the only class that can do that, at least its the only one i have witnessed.
Its very alarming that a class can absorb so much damage, continue to do whatever is doing and after that is ready to kill you. Again thats only me an elementalist, paper armor etc. But i think there is a problem
Hambow warriors (0 10 30 0 30) running with trip signet (heal, dolyak and elite) and the condi immune and extra stab utilities are the problem. One of the main problems with them is the trait that increases crit chance on stunned enemies by 50% applies before the stun damage applies. The earthshaker, for instance, will hit the enemy, stun them, and then do damage, gaining the bonuses from that trait and making the damage absolutely massive.
A 7 second cooldown on an AoE stun is just ridiculous, I can’t believe warriors werent running this build months and months ago, just for that. I love the fact that the training dummy basically runs this spec and no one thought to try it.
The healing signets heal is the real problem though, if you haven’t got poison, as a zerker, they are incredibly hard to take down. A zerker mesmer, a high damage class, using its most damaging weapon, the Greatswords, just using its autoattack won’t actually reduce the health of the warrior, that is just insane.
They have control, high damage, stability, condi clears (especially with lyssa runes) sustain, tools to stomp and res, high swiftness uptime. That is everything! All they don’t do is support others but solo theyre absolute machines.

Stealth doesn’t contest points, it puts your team at a disadvantage to use it. Getting out of combat certainly doesn’t contest points either.

You realize that requires a specific set of runes to get stability from BV right? Why don’t you mention breaking dagger storm early as well? None of these are viable/reliable methods.

And I didnt really think of dagger storm, but its rarely used anyway.

Lyssa doesn’t really work well with dagger mainhand builds and S/D is pretty much going away next patch. I assume you don’t think it viable to require an enemy mesmer to get stability

thieves are pretty much forced to get those runes for that very reason…

Stun-locking and chain-CC shouldn’t be possible. It would make warr , necros, engis more balanced . They could get a debuff like thief reaveal . A 3 second CD wouldnt be so bad . Because the deadly combo is immob+ hammer’s CCs and arcing arrow. Chain stun and land your devastating attack so your openent has no chance whatsoever .stun locking is just poor gameplay like condi spam .
