Getting Gold from PvP
Probably like 7g/hr winning majority of matches in teamq.
It’s not very fast.

7g/hr? how many matches do you have per hour?
Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.
You typical play 3-5 matches in an hour, depending on que pops and also how long those games last. So if you win them all (30s for teamq), that’s 1g 50s. That’s not factoring in the reward chests.

I find that you should expect about 4 matches per hour in tpvp, on average
You get about 1.20 gold per hour “if you’re winning”
And easily 2-3 gold for salvaging rewards, even if you get nothing special
The only way to get gold reasonably fast is to learn how to play on trade post. You just need some brains to do it, but it is way more profitable than mindless zerging and farming few hours a day.
just do as i did, get 1440g from playing tQ. dawn/dusk is your friend

That’s how I’ve been making gold from pvp. Do dungeon paths and toss 4 exotic greatswords from the chests into the forge and sell what you get from that. Do level 70+ tracks where you can salvage the rare armor you can get from tokens->ectos.
Then there are the T6 mats, exotics, rares, etc. from the lesser chests.
PvP still isn’t amazing for gold, but I don’t really care that much since that’s not why I PvP. As others have said, learning to play the TP is by far the best gold maker in the game.

So summarized:
- Play the TP in between queues (takes some practice)
- Do (high level) Dungeon Tracks, think Arah.
- Mystic Forge your weapons for a pre (Greatswords are likely the most expensive pre’s)
- Have fun
Making money with PvP requires luck.
Making money with WvW requires luck.
Making money in PvE requires dedication, luck is a bonus.
Just have fun in the game, you’re likely working a job that makes more Gold/Hour (Cash → Gems → Gold) than any farm. Don’t make your game your job. Nothing wrong with spending your time efficiently though, like (learning to) play the TP whilst waiting in the queue.
