Getting paired with people on my block list
In most games i think you will still get matched with them, at best i heard theres “try to avoid”.
In terms of gw2s population its even physically impossible, its already decimated in the high level.
And its also against Arenanets vision and mentality, gw2 is a casualist game that even hides your MMR just to make bad poeple feel not bad.

And when blocked and we get paired, there really isn’t any strategy going on, since I won’t unblock them.

Yes, but even though you might use the blocklist only for that reason, you can bet your rear plenty of people will use it in the way I mentioned should this ever find its way into the game. Of course it’s not optimal, but people blocking each other left and right just to get better teams would be so much worse.

I can see that happening. But doesnt the matchmaker get people with similar mmr? so that blocking would be for nothing, since they will still get paired with people that have their mmr on par with them.

The matchmaker tries to do so, yes. But what do you think will happen if everyone keeps blocking more and more players? Population is small enough already, pvp will be ded for good if that happens. lol
