I usually have this problem with my elementalist, but sometimes it also happens to my Guardian.

The problem is that occasionally when in combat, I can’t move. The WASD keys don’t work and I can’t dodge roll or jump, but I can cast spells.
The only way I figured out how to get unstuck is to use a teleport/leap skill. If my leap skill is on CD, I’m stuck until it’s available again.

Am I the only one having this issue?

It’s a well-known bug (that won’t be fixed). Cleansing a Taunt will get you stuck. Your best bet is to copy paste /dance, or just don’t cleanse the Taunt and tank it.

What is the obsession with typing /dance when you can type /no or /yes

This happened to me twice in a match some days ago on my elementalist. I was fighting some Engi and who knows what else and suddenly I was anchored to the ground on middle point and couldn’t move any direction, turn or jump for a few minutes.

I just ended up defending the point that way till someone’s cc moved and unstuck me.
It happened again later in the match though and I died and it went back to normal. Probably due to a bug from someones CC skills, maybe slick shoes? Feel free to delete and rip that skill apart to find out, Anet.

if it’s well known, why hasn’t Anet tried to fix it? Just because there are ways to get around a bug doesn’t mean the bug is gone…

I never once experienced it during the Cele D/D Ele meta, and that’s when I started PvP.

Lol, there’s a ton of well known bugs in this game that aren’t fixed.
I almost died of shock when I saw them fix Impairing Daggers last patch when it’s been “knownly” bugged since the day it was added to the game. As for Scorpion Wire now…. 3+ years in waiting.

Confirmed happened whilst grinding through emerald on my Ele, A LOT. About 3 times in ONE match alone.

This bug has also been around for year(s). I haven’t tried the dance thing yet to see if I can break out of it but wow it’s costed me many losses/deaths. GG.

i get stuck like this by dodging and or ending reaper shroud while casting 2. im not sure of the exact repro but i get stuck frequently and i think it has to do with dodging.

This has been happening frequently to me on my ele. It happened rarely, if ever, during the cele d/d meta so idk what it is.
I usually use burning speed to break it but it can be really inconvenient

It happens a lot to ranger pet taunts. I have /dance on copy paste.

Happen this sometimes with thief also. Even off any combat. I make an evade and everything works ok again

Happens on my scrapper when I get trait trigger of elixir s or when I’m in tornado. Happens few times a day. Pretty annoying.

Happens a lot in PVE as well after dodge rolls (mostly).

Oh it’ll get fixed eventually considering the impact this does have, given the seeming consistency of the bug, It just takes time. It has to be reported. They have to be able to reproduce it. Then they have to track down “why” and fix it. Seems straight forward, but isn’t always.
