Guild Wars 2

I think it would be cool if there were ranking titles like in League of Legends was put in place for Guild Wars 2. The titles in League of Legends are bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, master& challenger. I attend a university and I hear it all the time, “What rank are you?”, “I’m whatever ranked”. Using the leader board we already have, if we could put titles on those who are top 10000, 5000,1000, 500, 100, 25. I don’t know exactly how that will work but I really would love to take pride in being able to say, “Yea I am ‘cool name’ ranked” or years later when I look back “I was ranked ‘cool name’”. It might seem silly to some because it’s “just a game” but it makes it sound so much cooler! Would you not agree?

“Cool name” could be unique to gw like…ascended? I want to say gold and silver but I wouldn’t want people to say it’s a rip off of the league even though it’s rather a general term used everywhere. Using animal names would make it confusing since we already have the finishers.

Have it show an icon next to your name in heart of mist or like the gold capes in gw1, have a backpack that indicates what placing you are. That would be a clear indication, super cool to see. Ill be like woah, pro..

Yea we do have the ranked thing in place going up to dragon but you can lvl that up through time even if you lose a whole lotta matches indicating that skill is not the biggest factor, time is. Skill too of course because you gotta play a whole lot but It’s not as impressive to me when someone tells me they have dragon because I feel as though I’ll eventually get there.

Now what does impress me is if they say they are in top 1000. But “top 1000”? Can’t we have a cooler name than that? :c

Surely it would give my friends and I a goal to pursue or a title to admire.

I don’t know to what extent it’ll fix anything but it’s just something I’d like to see.

yeah that’s what scares me the most….

You’re basically asking for a league/ladder system.

They would have to rework the leaderboard completely to do this, because it’s not based on MMR or skill in any way right now. I’d love to see it too, but I wouldn’t bet on it happening anytime soon.
