It is just too low, takes too long to gain a level and im only 17, plus it really gives no benefits at all in the actual ‘real’ game, so much for just some looks. (pve, wvwvw).

You are only level 17 and you think you level up slow? Just wait, each time you get to the next tier it gets even more FUN. (Currently at 45k glory per level at level 42, gone are the days when you could rank up in a day or 2 at the low levels)

It gets better, at rank 49 it goes up to 75k and not sure what it is at 59 since I doubt anyone is even close to that level yet.

In my opinion, it’s easier to gain glory and rank if you don’t try to farm it. If you find something you genuinely enjoy doing in PvP, and keep doing it, the glory and ranks will come naturally before you even realize it.

My goal is to practice, synergize, and perfect my guild team in tournament PvP. I rarely do hot join. And I’m now rank 40. I didn’t even try to gain ranks. They just naturally flowed in while I did what I thought was fun.

I used to be like that. Enjoying a rank up when it happened.

But then I got to rank 8. Rank 9 to 10 is taking forever. PvP isn’t well-developed enough for me to stick around long enough to get through the next set of 10 ranks.

There must be something wrong, it cant be that sPvP ends being a grind fest… Even if is only for the looks, maybe ANet didn’t finish the top level gear yet?

I’m pretty amazed how tight they are with glory at this point. Boosters don’t even help.

The pvp part of gw2 is so limited, I don’t know how people get ranks above 20 without getting bored.

The funny thing is you don’t need to farm unless you want the rank, in which case, enjoy your cheese greater helm, other of use will just play to have fun.

Agree with this here, gave up the farming part for the sake of farming around level 40, much easier to play to have fun and not worry about the levels. The cosmetic gear doesn’t really matter either, and if you really want the most exclusive, you have to do paids, but there is no rank requirement for those either, and you can get paid tokens even if you lose the first round.

If the aesthetic upgrades do not matter to you, or “Aren’t worth it”, then why are you complaining about the amount of time it takes to get them? If you are grinding ranks, then you need to accept that you aren’t playing for fun, you are grinding.

I haven’t done a free or paid tournament yet, and I’m r33, because the change in looks is a just a bonus for me playing in a way that is fun for me, the bg-esque feel of spvp.

Bags aren’t cosmetic. To get anything more than 10 slots you need to do way more grinding than to get those bags in pve.
