how is it that these POOR POOR HUMAN BEINGS have kept SOME kind of SANITY playing the same exact and i mean THE SAME exact kind of repetitive PVP for over 2 YEARSSSSS!! after one hour of playing i started to rage really bad.
the ONLY good thing about pvp so far is the custom arenas…..except that they cost 200gold. why??? cause its the ONLY thing that is different in there after TWO YEARRSSSSS plus it provides a sense of independence since i can own in 1vs1s yay….BUT THATS IT and that doesnt GIVE ME AHYTHINGGGG (points-wise).

its disgraceful to even step foot in that man. over 2 years and u still got these people doing the same thing? REALLY??? is that even allowed?

i did go do something else…..i left super fast. after i raged…..i raged pretty bad XD. since i dont play much i wanted to try n do some spvp after idk how long and realized…..that i couldnt even last one hour without feeling angry at this. dude its disrespectful

you dont seem to understand do you……i dont mean an event like a tourny where its a more challenging environment. i mean the same TASK, CAPTURE 3 POINTS WITH RANDOM PEOPLE for over two years? for HOURSS AND HOURSS! do u think thats fun? if so…..i question many thing about you……many things.

You, Adry, I now know as someone that finds enjoyment from getting up on a soap box and crying out to the world. You create repeated threads over the same topic whenever your threads die – just so you can remain in the spotlight. Or you create threads like this one that have no standing other than to kitten for the sake of kittening.

You don’t like sPvP? Fine. Don’t do it. Raging at those that do is childish.
Now if you wanted to create a thread that was full of constructive ways of improving sPvP, that would be different, but you’re not doing that here.
All I see is a tantrum thread – one that I’m sad to admit I’ve given enough of my time to.

For many people, it’s also not just the PvP, but also things like build experimentation and perfecting their skills. I’ll ask something; has there been anything that you’ve enjoyed so much you can do it for hours and hours, so much so that time goes quicker than it seems? For me it’s reading and learning. Many a night I’ve spent up without realising the time.

2. What’s saying that everyone has been playing every day for hours and hours for 2 years? I’d say the amount of people who have been playing for hours and hours every day for 2 years with no breaks are very small in comparison to players who have a combination of these factors.

If anet uses 6 teams only for living story, spvp (and www) can’t improve quickly.

everything you stated was horrible. you made no valid points…..first ooff im only talkin about spvp..therefore i am saying playing spvp a lot within the course of two years….like a lot. if you still think thats ok, i have no reason to even discuss this topic with someone who lacks…..many many things, once again, you dont understand and sadly, you wont until later. which would be when you yourself go through the experience because you seem to lack basic role taking skills.

As much as people have the distaste in rant threads, the truth stands tall.

WvW been the same in 2 years.

sPvP been the same in 2 years.

Everything is put into LS and gem store.

I have only been sPvPing for a handful of months…. but I’m already bored with it..

Seriously, can we get more official modes other than capture 2-3 points with some secondary spin on it?

How about capture the flag, death-match, free for all melee, or odd ball…..

It doesn’t look like it be all that hard to make and implement into the rotation.

PvE can only take a games lifespan so far, even if you keep adding little by little, only so many skins you can throw on a AI enemy.

I was playing chess with a friend and it suddenly occured to me that in all the years I’ve been playing chess, there hasn’t been one single major upgrade in it. The pieces all move the same. There’s no real vertical progression, and it’s extremely repetitive. The more games you play, the more you realize how repetitive it is. Last I saw, people still play chess.

SPvP isn’t about changing things all the time (and some things have changed. There have been many changes to the meta), it’s about getting as good as you can on your chosen profession(s).

Sometimes I occasionally log-in and play PvP just for fun. Sometimes I don’t. Lots of games besides GW hold my interest, and even in GW I just do whatever I want to do at that particular moment.

A suggestion: try other build? Professions?

Firstly, why aren’t my points valid? Instead of throwing out the ad hominems about what I may or may not be lacking, discuss (if you can) why my points aren’t valid in your eyes. Simply saying “your points are horrible” doesn’t really add much to the discussion.

The bulk of your OP amounted to asking how people could play SPvP repeatedly when not much has been added to it, and that’s exactly what I was discussing.

At no point have I said if I think SPvP was in a good state or not, or whether it was OK regarding the time spent on adding things to SPvP, or the different game modes ect.

On a final note, I haven’t the slightest idea what you mean by ‘role-taking skills’ in regards to this discussion. A note as well before you decide to palm this off as ‘I was proven right since you don’t understand anything’; you’ve given no context as to what that is supposed to mean.

WvW & sPvP hasn’t really changed, because it’s not really meant to! You buy any other game which you only have to pay for once, and that’s usually it. You get what you pay for. The content you see is the content you get.

BUT… then ArenaNet give WvW extras, such as Edge of the Mists. PvP has had extra maps, such as Skyhammer as well as a changed tournament system.

So yeah, I don’t see a problem. WvW zones were designed as they are to be kept in the long term. And they’re not going to fill WvW and PvP with 100s of different maps because there’d hardly be anyone in them, except maybe 1 or 2 which will have loads because it’s “The best one”.*

bad comparison, also how often to you play chess and how much per day do you play it? to play spvp once a week is fine, also chess is mind vs mind……spvp is complex yes if your a pro vs a pro but its all based on speed and quick tactics….not as complex. plus these people play regularly, you dont play a game for its pvp to pvp once a week, listen kid, theres no way to defend against my statement because mines is valid and true while yours is biased and unbelievably unreasonable.

we can all agree that the pvp here is lame right? even if it has potential and INITIALLY its good, but after two years….its bogus. so can we focus on pvp and not on me please XD?

if we stop playing we’ll never find the next best AI build to run. i mean, it’s been two years and i still don’t know how to play and nobody has noticed.

hey OP, try play any game for 2 years and tell me it is NOT repetitive.

Just to name a few other repetitive games for you;
Runescape, Freelancer, Battlefield franchise, Call of Duty franchise, The Sims, Sim City, Total War franchise, Grand Theft Auto franchise, World of Warcraft, DotA 2, Starcraft.

Spend enough time and a pattern will repeat itself over and over and over and over and over.

The meta is what pushes the pattern, the game mode is what dictates the playing field for the pattern. If anything, you have just been stuck in the same meta for too long, so, try change it. Play something “not in the books”. Make your own build. Create your own challenge and rise to it. Set yourself a goal, stand by it and progress.
These are the things that are fun. Playing for the sake of playing, well, you can go zergball in WvW for that.
