Gold cost is too high for spvp players
Just wait till they remove glory and gold:gems becomes the standard. 10 new skills for 8 classes will cost 2,000 skill points @ 25 a piece. This game is heading in the wrong direction.
They want you to buy gems with real money and convert to gold. Perhaps understandable given no sub and no announced expansion.
I like the new rewards system, however, I have only 8 gold after playing the game since launch because I play spvp nearly all the time. The gold cost of goods is just far too high. Just buying a 20 slot bag will bankrupt me.
Perhaps the gold cost is set at a rate that makes sense if I was starting from day 1 and a year from now I would have 500,00 glory and say 400g from spvping, (actually the gold cost still seems high even at that point), but what about the spvpers now? We can’t really buy anything even sitting on half a million glory.
Spent 500k glory today and made just over 350k gold before the market began to crash.
Haiku FTW

I don’t know how to do that, nor do I really want to. Can I not just play the game normally and get a fair reward?

lol anets argument against reward for past wins is shoking the economy but u see, that isnt needed to shoke anything.
what happens if all pvp-players decide to champion-farm 1 week and manipulate the tradingpost by buy all a certain item? its that the same? btw im on work. means if im home i cant make any gold as usual.

350g? or 350k g? Huge difference
There is a solution: Play PvE!
Right now you can buy wintersday gifts in the Mists with glory and tradepost them. Current rate is about 1 gold for 1k glory (roughly), so more than enough money to be made if you need it.
Certainly a lot less laborious than old method, which was dye crafting from pvp salvage (I still made good gold, got lucky with Abyss and Celestial as well as others).

Opps it was 350 gold

yeah, i do NOT like skill point lock either.
of many pros and cons for gw2 the crucial PRO for me was insta access pvp, without having to grind to become viable. locked skills are small step in very wrong direction for me.
Maybe I am missing something. Is glory going to be fazed out completely? In future will it just be a gold cost for everything in HoM?
Why could I buy 18 slot bags for all my toons for peanuts before, and now can only afford to buy a few before going bankrupt?
I reiterate, I like the direction of the changes to rewards, but please tell me how the current gold price of goods takes into consideration the spvp community.
I have gone from hero to zero pretty much. The only answer seems to be to grind pve, play spvp for another year (I expect 600g from 4000 games at average of 15g per game), or play the auction house? Was that what you had in mind?
The reason spvpers were asking for gold rewards was so that we could participate in the rest of the game, not be locked out of rewards in the only part of the game we play.
