ANet has to do something about people quitting in the middle of a match. Trying to play pvp more (like the new reward system) but it’s just painful. Halfway though most games the losing team starts to shed members. So the winning team has folks pulled to the losing team, negating their earned reward.
ANet needs to impose a penalty to these folks. Gold, pvp points, something. Can’t remember the last time I finished a game with the same teams I started with. Man up people and take the loss.

I think one thing that would be great is to give users a bonus reward for sticking it out in a match.

Maybe a special reward track that rewards fair-play over rage-quitters.

also, force random teams, and to make auto balancing work, they should not just move good players over to the other team, but maybe make it so that team gets a simple handicap for 30sec. Nothing insane, but something to at lest let the other team catch up.

the problem is when someone is forced into a losing team chances are they will afk, or rage quit.

one idea i liked was at certain percents of getting behind an npc would spawn to hold a zone for your team, so lets say its 400pts to 0-100pts an npc would spawn and hold a point. just something to get the ball rolling for the other team. Or give swiftness buffs after respawning.

The solution is not to play Hot Join.

It’s Hot Join, so don’t complain about balance there.

If you get transferred from the winning team to the losing team, you automatically get the full reward for a win, no matter which team ends up winning. So no worries there.

I don’t like hotjoin either, entering and leaving in the middle of the match just throws off the sense of competition. I’d recommend solo or team arena. Those put two teams against each other for the entire match, no shuffling or entering mid-match, and leaving mid-match is heavily penalized (do it three times and you get locked out of arenas for a certain amount of time).

i’d at least like to control my “missing” ally if for someone reason he DC’s. Example his toon would still load the game even if he is offline, but his teammates can press F2 and control his toon and F1 to swap back to their own toon.

It would still be totally kitten but at least there is another body to throw at points and really good players would have more of a chance to carry their team.
