Gray out the HP for future condition damage
Or maybe yellow? I hate yellow.

It’s sad that this thread received less attention than the troll threads. Maybe we need more controversies in this thread? Alright:
Necro/Engi is too OP, especially post patch. We need to nerf them more by implementing this!

Lol both noobs purple best.
Also colour not color lol noobs.
Only flame wars get attention.
I received an infraction for intentionally bumping the thread. I am writing to let you know that you should stop doing that too, to avoid getting infracted.
The good side of that is we know at least one mod read our suggestion

Awesome idea

Awesome idea agreed. Especially with all the condi changes.
I’d settle for some kind of “degen amount” indicator as an alternative if the total predicted hp loss is too annoying to code up or shifts too often to be useful visually.
Like the little down arrows on the GW1 health bar: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Health_bar#Health_bar
It’s hard to see tiny numbers on condition stacks but easy to look over and see “I’ve got roughly this much badness on me.”
I disagree. It should “purple out” not grey out. =P
Our first disagreement. No, it needs to be pink, you’re all bad if you disagree.
Not a fan of pink, but it’s actually is quite fitting.
Anyway, best thing I’ve read in this subforum since the BWEs, good job OP.
All the yes, very yes to everything.

Can we get some explanation why we can’t have this in the game?

Very cool idea. I’d definitely approve of more information when it comes to condis instead of seeing if something hurts on the first tick.
+1. Id also really like ui support. I think this would help a lot of people vs eles if they could easily see which attunement they were in.
This game is easy enough without it telling you when to cleanse…

People will be more likely to call condi builds OP for no reason because if you look at the tooltips it will display an incredible amount of damage for just 2 or 3 bleeds (because of the duration) but in reality no-one ever lets the condi tick for that long xD

*1 I support you, that will be a good thing!
approved !
Message Body length must at least be 15.
This is a good thing , it tells you when to cleanse High Damaging condis which are easy to miss to new players they will clear stuff when they see lots of bad debuffs though those may not even be damaging , it makes a bridge between new players and those learning to deal with condis .
it will also allow better team management for medi guards or shout rangers or shout warroirs to remove condis when needed so they dont have to spam shouts off cooldown to get rid of none damaging condis which could of just been out lasted by waiting 3secs.
i’d aprrove this again now the 2nd time.
+1, because you can recognize skill animations and have an idea of what is big or small damage. But you have no idea how hard the condition will hit for until after the first tick.
+1 Very good idea!
With some builds using an often limited supply of condition sources, getting a good read on an opponent rather than having the choice to drop everything or very little on your target if you join a half started fight makes this a means of everyone suddenly getting better at the game.
Would this feature count the thief feature of Pulmonary Impact? Or does that get to stay a surprise?
For those who don’t know pulmonary impact is a ‘condition’ that thieves can apply that does nothing until it removes itself, then it deals serious damage
Great idea! +1
It should be 2 tone to show much HP you are going to lose in the next 3 seconds and how much overall.
This way you will be able to recognise the difference between bursty conditions and slow ones.

Will the two colors mix into a third, distinct color for when burning is applied and “the overall” and “next 3 seconds” are one in the same?
Or maybe one color for burning, and one color for all those other, insignificant conditions. That’d do it.
Great idea, if you also add other hp colours for each condition it will be so good.
In terms of traits and runes/sigils they should add icon of this rune/trait/sigil that states if its ready + visible CD on it. It would create great way to play with them and play around them.
At this point, I doubt that the devs haven’t seen this thread. If they decided to ignore it already, I think bumping this wouldn’t help. Just let it die, guys. Most people like this idea, but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna end up somewhere not #allisvain.

I am not colour blind but it should be colours/Visual shadows so that colour blinds can see the difference. I am totaly for this suggestion though.

Purple is always a good color choice. Purple IS the color of evil in Tyria.
I realy like the idea .
1° It will help people watching streams to understand the dangerosity of some conditions.
2° it will help players who currently spam they’r condition removal to get rid of 3 bleed stacks that they are better to wait to have more condition presure on them before removing the DOT.
3° It will help condition classes to see if they have to presure more or if they can change their targets wile the dot is doing his damage.
4° It will help support classes to know when they have to remove conditions on their team mates.
Problem how do you make that work for tourment and confusion (Just grey the base degen ?)

+1, the best part about this is that it makes the stream a lot more understandable, and thus increase viewership.

This is so vital to the game with the condition change
I wonder why it’s still not there.
There’s no way to know how much dmg you’re taking from condis.
You can have a huge amount of different low damaging condis or just 20 stacks of a single type say burn from a burn guard.
The first looks like a condi bomb but isn’t and the second one doesnt look like one but is.
Yea it’s extremely confusing in teamfights.

It’s so weird to see everyone agreeing on something…. I think your thread broke the forums.
burn guardian enters the room. hp bar all grey.
nope , i dont play bg. and i support the OP idea, whatever color it shall be.
UP
This need to be seen
Lets just allow addons and solve all problems with the UI in one go
While we’re at it, can we get HP %s displayed, so we know when our trait/rune procs are going to happen?
As much as I support the idea of “greying” life bar to show an estimated of the remain condition damages…
Estimated because they’re computed on the fly, so if you lose/gain Might during the duration of them, they’ll adjust accordingly…
As I hate the idea to change the game for Interface Wars 2 : Numbers Everywhere.
The percent may be added as an option, but addon should never exists for fight interface.
Kikimeter is bad! spray water at kikimeter
Same thing for boss warnings addon. Just look at the boss, understand its moves!
Im gonna necro this topic cause this is a really simple, effective, useful UI feature that would benefit readability for the game soooo much. Would be a really nice change, /signed
This would be amazing for PvE too. would let people know they can stop attacking something and switch targets
This is still a great idea +1
Different colors for evey cond?
Also, there’s a chance tha all bar become gray the whole time.
But still, i ll give it a shot.

This is an amazing idea – would really help see when conditions are annoying and when they’re deadly.
With the future condi spam it is more than ever relevant. It would help to know if you need to cleanse asap or not. Waiting for the first tick is sometimes too late.

rainbow for HP bar? ehh nah
overall great idea tho

Really learn too play issue knowing what you are fighting gives a idea of what dmg they can output if you are struggling vs condi build ask them to fight you 1v1 and try too survive
This system will give inaccurate data and can be manipulated in doing so. The way conditions work in this game makes it impossible to predict the future damage correctly. On top of that it doesn’t even show how dire it is to cleanse.
Bump! I can see the problem with torment and confusion but something still has to be done to make condi damage more predictable.
It’ll be some fun coding for the devs to do. Incorporating passive healing and both the fluctuation of condi damages with Might stacks may be a challenge, but it has been done in other Moba games quite efficiency.
This QoL change is welcomed.
