Guild Wars 2

This may be a controversial subject but it’s an idea I’m just throwing out there to see what everyone thinks about it. The group targeting system, that being where you can call a target for your whole group to attack and take out. Is it really needed in sPvP? Really should it be there?

There’s all this talk of nerfing spike damage on classes etc yet the biggest problem I see is too much damage all at once from many sources. I am assuming it is because of this target calling system. So, should we look at removing it? Would it add a little bit more of a stratedgy with it gone?

Imagine your side hits the other side, even teams 5 vs 5 in the middle of the map. With the current system 1 team could call a target, everyone on that side attacks and kills. You can see the advantage if one side does this and the other does not. Yet you could say well both teams could/should be calling. But if both do or not, is it fun being on the end of this? With this system removed would you not need to be more observant of the fight to see who is the biggest threat, who needs help and such?

Like I said, just throwing the idea out there – discuss. :P

Thats because its akin to giving both people the options of guns or nothing in a fight, then complaining that the person who choose not to grab a gun is at a disadvantage.

It is there to be used, and is a useful tool.

There’s not really anything to discuss. I don’t want to offend you, but I’m glad you are not a game designer. It is a pretty bad idea to remove targeting in my opinion.

Even if you remove target calling it wont solve anything cuz most of the time targets are called in voice comms.
