From an individual player’s perspective, warrior seems OP because mace/shield is designed to shut down an individual. However, it’s a poor set for teamplay. A warrior is good for either bunkering a point or shutting down a key enemy (necro or ele) in node fights. It has little to no aoe and its condi damage is not so great unless you let them land Skull Grinder repeatedly, and that also is single-target. They can be kited quite easily by mesmer, thief, or rev, and even an ele running Harmonious Conduit can outsustain them.

On the other hand, DH performs well in both a bunkering capacity and node fights due to longbow, teleports, and traps. They have a ton of range and area denial, the latter because of traps and longbow 5. I’m kind of on the fence about whether it really needs nerfs to its effectiveness, but I would love to see its skill flor raised. At the point where a dev says it has a low skill floor, there’s an issue.

I don’t see that many warriors. I see tons of DH, Mesmers and Druids.

you have to realize that Warriors use a selfish build that provides very little team support/utility. In solo/duo q system we have here I think classes that do good damage but also support the team whether by healing/condi clear/boons etc are more of a force multiplier.

Your typical average gamer -
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "

Both are easy to play both kinda OP for solo/duo q and 1v1’s. some classes don’t even have chance or if they make just one mistake they are dead. They survive good also multiple players attacks because of high damage avoidance, high healing/health regeneration they also have high burst and very good cc. So they are the best choice if you like to survive a lot while also kill most players ez mode. For solo q they are very good choice as a lot of games there arent any teamplay so you can kill a lot players in 1v1’s or shut down necros in 1v1’s especially if you see none from their team care to help them then you can do the same whole game as you make one player useless.

isn’t it just the fact that warrior and guardian are the most impactful lone wolf classes?

I mean people going team support and team buff roles in all the other classes are gonna be frustrated if the rest of their team doesn’t help them form that solid triangle/pentagon

Pvp is about teamplay. I would think that the team that buffs eachother would be more powerful than 5 warriors who at best can just give eachother full might while mitigating their own damage. Its like a wave vs a rock…..
When I see warriors in pvp I just see them as very limited, for the reason that pvp is about 5-team-play. Warriors aren’t what you want in a wvsw zerg (20-team-play).

We know that the guard double traps are stupid OP and we know that the warrior healing signet+adrenal health is just as much stupid OP.

Theres no mystery. Guardians and warriors are Anets babies and they never gonna nerf them like other classes. Just look at the treatment of scrapper gyros vs dh traps. Everything nerfed to the ground yet once DH traps came up on the balancing table they replaced daze instead of simply removing it like on the super stronk gyros.

Definetly preferential treatment and I dare anyone at Anet to dispute that.

I find warriors and trap guards free food on my guard. I don’t find that they are over repped.

It depends what and how you play. I also died to double trapper being pulled in by the second pull not reacting fast enough to fire invul …. So my fault. DH is easy wit hhuge impact but it´s L2P to fight/avoid them. I know it´s frustrating for new players. They just perish in traps or now also go up in flames.

Coming from a warrior who has been literally pinned on the bottom of the meta sandwich for nearly a year, It’s not my fault that my class is built for dueling and that just happens to be the best strategy to deal with a league where there’s 2 player max queues.

I still melt to condis, still melt to blinds, still melt to focus and still have no range unless I take rifle or bow, and then it is marginal at the cost of mobility.

Be careful with reacting to this meta. Warrior is slowly getting back to where it is somewhat manageable.

I can’t talk about DH/Guard ease of play since I dont play one, but both Guard and War, when I vs them, have large tells and heavy counterplay that makes them pretty easy to deal with.

Yes, conquest is a team fight, but you can’t group with more than one person and there is no voice chat. Most of the time people aren’t even listening to the team chat before a match starts, so there is typically very minimal coordination.

Therefore it is only logical that professions which require less team coordination and have a stronger affect on the outcome when acting solo are more represented.

Being pulled into stacks of traps, possibly set on fire and/or stunned all in the blink of an eye isn’t much fun for anyone, especially those new to PvP who aren’t expecting it. Saving your invulns and avoiding them are important lessons to learn early. You have to choose your battles and make the decision if it is worth your time and in your teams best interest to contest the point or go somewhere else. Making the right decision only comes with experience.

That said, I am always elated to have warriors and DHs on my team because I know that means we automatically have a higher chance of winning.

Revenants are pretty bad atm, post balance. They’ve had their dps gutted significantly.
They’re not even a full class, much less an upgrade of one.

I’d argue with you on mobility, dps, but you are right re: utility and target sticking.

This is something I’ve considered as well. Yes, trap guards are annoying but you can only make them so weak before you ruin the whole class and cause it to vanish.

People will not play a bad class or one difficult to make usable just so you can farm kills. Guardians right now have become annoying but -incredibly squishy-, and I’m okay with L2P to handle a character that needs to stand in a circle to be effective.

I just played a game vs 3 guardians, 1 warrior & a thief. Double or triple the number of traps on a point – it was a horrid experience and does not make me want to continue with sPVP or GW2.

Part of the problem is the game mode where people have to stand on a small circle = ideal for traps. Can’t we have more map types like in World of Warcraft battlegrounds?

Gyro daze was always traited. And it was a grandmaster trait too.

I’m pretty sure Gyro’s dazes were baseline to Gyros, Final Salvo only produced lightning field gave stability and superspeed.
