Feel My Wrath only used by bunker guardian and yet it is easily counter by boon rip and corrupt boons from mesmer/thief/nerco.

Putting it on 45 Sec CD is like making a good and half decent skill become useless.
Maybe we will have to see what’s other changes but this nerf is really unnecessary. If so maybe make Feel My Wrath instant cast? Since it’s a shout it should be instant cast. If this shout become instant cast then the CD increase Nerf will make sense.

ps. I don’t play guardian but I just think this nerf doesn’t make any sense, why not just focus on balancing the real overpowered spec/skills in this game? Instead of touching skills that people barely use/play on NA/EU? (In PvP I mean)

If there are any explanation it will be so awesome to know why this skill is nerfed. Maybe is because of PvE?

Feel My Wrath was on the edge of being one of those overpowered skill. 6sec of quickness is no joke. It’s going to be fine as a 45sec CD.

So you mean to tell me they can nerf dodge roll healing and save yourself for PvP while keeping it normalized in PvE/WvW, but not vice versa when it comes to Feel My Wrath?

Like are they biased? Half the things Anet does with guardian doesn’t make sense. It’s not like there is this ultimate plan for guardian to become more polished. They need to reconsider this. If anything make it a 35 second cd or leave it alone in PvP.

Stance vs Shout cancels each other out, which means that stun break is that much more powerful than having the quickness and fury be AoE that it justifies much higher cd. Makes sense.

Last time I checked, people were complaining about
1) DD ele
2) Burn stacks
3) Vamp Runes
4) PU mesmer/Condi Mesmer

Where in the kitten world did anyone say quickness on guardian? People have complained about overcharge shot on engi not having animation for years, but they always nerf guardian.

Shall I continue?

Nerf glaicial heart by putting it in a traitline that doesnt evne make sense why?
Take away purity or due to ignorance not realize they were nerfing it why?
Make symbol heals/larger pretty much not an option why?
Ignoring shield skills for 3 years why?
Nerf dodge roll healing and save yourself to only revert it back to what it used to be and consider that a buff? Is that some sort of joke or slap in the face?

U see my point or where im getting at? Constant nerfs for such an underwhelming class? What because a bunker guard can rez lol? If a person complains about a bunker guard rezzing and say its needs to be nerfed because of that, I suggest they stop playing gw2.

Lol? I didn’t ask what made it strong. First of all, if a skill is good or strong that doesn’t mean it needs a nerf or is OP. Second you obviously can’t read or comprehend what I stated and why I stated it. I simply stated why the shorter cd was needed for our survivablity due to what we were giving up as an elite. And then I gave reasons why the nerf was unnecessary as well as all the other ones and who asked for the nerf?

Do you guys forget what we give up for not having renwed focus? We have no way of escaping a fight when trained or access to stealth. That is why we rely on blocks and invulns and pretty much ALWAYS ran Renwed focus.

So you think having an elite shout on a 60-80 second cd is justifiable when that is completely laughable considering we are extremely cooldown dependent as well? \

Its like people AND ANET, fails to realize why guards sometimes are prone to taking certain skills ALL THE TIME. The reason why it felt ok to also take that elite is, for once in our kitten lives we didnt have something with such a long cd that was strong, and its short cd helped us survive longer without having the invuln when running staff mostly.

Why do you think most dps guards cannot take Feel my wrath? Because they absolutely need it to survive due to how important disengaging/resetting/stealth is in this game. Same with bunker guard but due to its more sustainy nature, we can sacrifice it due to things such as AH/Empower/etc with quickness.

I didn’t feel like it was that monstrous. It is a very good elite skill but so is Rampage. Honestly, if people wanted it nerfed, 40 seconds would be a sweeter spot.

Bunker guardian isnt even a thing in top pvp. no team runs it. Is it good? yes. Still it has heavy weaknesses. I just dont understand where this nerf comes from, at least from a pvp point of view

This is so true, this huge nerf (50% cd increase)nerf doesn’t make any sense at all.

Many of my guard friends came back just for this skill and now you nerf it because it was “too strong” this is beyond stupid, the skill was working as intended, good guards used it in the right moments and winning fights with that, is that too strong for you? but it isn’t strong to see a kittening d/d tanking 3 people at the same time and not dying.

I would have gone for a 40 seconds cooldown considering the cast time and that you could have grabbed the almighty Renewed Focus instead but it should still be fine still.

It is fine either way, You do not spam the shout, you use it for a quick stomp or a res, something that is very tactical in nature. Also, in PvE you can usually use it just once in a boss fight.

I think a kitten CD is ok.

I’m not too miffed about the CD increase. At 30sec you could spam it and still have it back when you needed it. At 45sec, you have to be a bit more judicious about when to use it.

I don’t think they want to reduce it to 0 cast time. They made it 1/4sec so that you couldn’t cast it during other actions. Maybe give a few extra seconds of Fury to compensate?

The pve reason it is being nerfed is basically that a team of 5 guardians could keep 100% uptime of quickness (With or without the trait) for the entire party using only one skill, not to mention the short recharge condition cleanse that comes alongside just traiting it down to 24 seconds. It really trivializes some aspects of gameplay. Why nerf it for pvp as well? Who knows, except maybe because the new “meta” in stronghold is basically to just play “Rush the goal line” instead of actually playing as intended.

As a matter of fact I did not, because 90% of the thread was whining about a nerf that is more than justified.

Point still stands, Anet have gone out of their not to split skills between PvE and PvP as they did in GW2.

If that does change, sure then they might rebalance the elite shout. Before that happens though, a LOT of other elites warant rebalancing.

Personally I agree with the nerf, even in pvp, because of one thing: Stronghold. Currently the “strategy” is to have four offensive players attack down the lane and escort door-busters while one person sits back and spams the NPCs down the lane. Assuming that those four pushers are all shout traited guardians, six seconds of swiftness x4 = 24 second perma swiftness (i.e. the total duration of the cooldown.) This is BAD for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that this particular strategy is toxic and idiotic.

Personally I am particularly annoyed by the fact that people would rather find a way to break the gameplay mode than actually play it as intended. This is a matter for a different topic, though, and to me the nerf makes perfect sense.

I was merely pointing out that they can and WILL split skills for pvp if they think that the nerf/buff of a skill will balance poorly. In this particular case, though, it would be a bad idea to split.

It’s quite obvious Anet seems to cater guardian overall from traits to skills/utilities for pve. This would explain a lot of the unjustified stationary skills and useless skills for pvp and not realizing the issues with guardian in pvp.

If this is the case then, they need apply the principal they did for guardians dodge roll heals and save yourself before to everything about guardian. If they feel need nerf for pve, then let this be a trend making it separate for pve and pvp unless both are justified.

Like glacial heart? Put it in with absolute resolution why? In pve you can get away with that but pvp? That had to be a joke.

It’s like as soon as you guys heard “Feel my wraths cooldown is increased to 45 seconds” you all started screaming like mad frothing dogs and completely missed the rest of the presentation, also for all we know, there could be things to counteract the nerf (which is justified IMO) by increasing damage on certain abilities, providing more effects or buffing some utilities to actually be useful.

Who said we didn’t say that or know that they renormalized save yourself? We all know this. The save yourself is not even a buff and it’s just reverted back to what it used to be. It’s not game a changing buff or something we even cared for. Guards would love to not rely on shouts anyway like we have for the last 3 years.

If you think that shield change is a huge buff, you don’t play guard enough competitively to realize how it’s almost negligible. This is my issue with Anet. They make such minor changes that they don’t even realize the only big change guardian has had in 3 years, and I kid you not, 3 YEARS was feel my wrath and they already nerf it.

It literally has only been nerfs for 3 consecutive years besides them revamping trait lines, and even then we got potentially unintentional nerfs.

Let me explain the buffs and nerfs we’ve received:

1) spirit weapons were nerfed because people couldnt kill them? That killed spirit builds.
2) save yourself was nerfed
3) dodge roll heals were nerfed
4) sanctuary was bugged but fixed for the worst
5) retaliation was nerfed
6) purity was nerfed
7) glacial heart was introduced then secretly nerfed
8) our health pool diminished with recent patch as with no compensation
9) our vigor was nerfed
10) signets were always bad and most concentrations
11) feel my wrath already nerfed
12) tome of courage nerfed….
13) virtues range of use, nerfed……
I could keep going…..

As far as buffs that were even useful?
Mainly reduced cooldowns on things that were negligble, a buff to healing breeze, a stunbreaker finally on our stab(made no sense), and making only some skills not stationary.

What I’m getting at is those nerfs pretty much nerf the same build, excluding medi guard, we’ve been using for years. Without getting anything we’ve asked for for years including shrill changes. The good things we have all get nerfed dumbfoundedly in pvp.

I can somewhat see the justification for the nerf. It shared the shortest CD of all the shouts and is arguably the most powerful. 45 seems like an odd number though. Personally, around 40 would have been fine (32s traited). Most Guards will just go back to running RF anyways, most still run RF to begin with. Also, speaking of useless elites something really should be done with Signet of Courage. Healing interval is too long and with a 4.25 cast time; makes getting it off almost impossible. At least the Tome of Courage gave you stab (if traited), however, it also gave you protection and around 10k more hp, so you could get the skill off. Standard bunker guard has around 13.4k hp, there is no way in hell you are getting this full heal off; unless the enemy team is completely oblivious. With all that being said, the shield changes look to be nice and the normalization of SYS is great (should have happened years ago, but whatever, better late than never).
