This. Also, if you’re winning every other single 1v1, i guess it’s normal that something is able to beat you… it would be too easy otherwise..

The main differences are the use of cleric amulet and the 6 points in honor. That gives me ~17k base HP, 3K armor and a huge sustain (including heals for over 1k for each evade), at the cost of losing 35-40% of the burst damage.
If you use well the scepter this is a uphill match for any engineer; most of them will try to kite you at range or spam interrupts and surround their movements with AoE damage and cripples, expecting you to have a minimal amount of HP and sustain purely based on blinds and blocks… The fun usually starts over the 35-40 seconds, at which bad engies start panic. The good ones still can beat you if you make mistakes, but is a more fair fight that the current dps med meta.
I used to have trouble fighting Engineers 1 vs 1 but I one day after I got my kitten especially handed to me I decided to watch how they fight and learn their skills.
I have learned that they have massive AOEs and tons of conditions. They also love to be in your face because that’s how they just unload this amazing burst on you. I also learned that this amazing burst has a cool down that really is quite long.
I use this said CD to my advantage all the while keeping my distance from them. Its hard for them to land their grenades at range if you are watching them from a far fyi. I would recommend you use scepter to kite them as they continue to try and get close to you.
If they do get close to you and unload all their CDs on you, use your blocks and roll out. I actually pop my Shelter just to get out of it. Shelter is not on a terribly long cool down and your other skills can heal you as well so it’s not a big deal. Once you roll away keep your distance all the while flinging your fairy balls in his face. Once you see that he has popped his burst its time for you to act. Time your burst perfectly and he will absolutely go into panic mode.
Its worked almost every time for me and I can honestly say I’m not that scared of engis anymore.
Oh and one word of advice. If it’s honestly just a 1 vs 1, DONT STAND ON THAT CIRCLE! Let him sit on it because as soon as he misses his load on you, he will be toast.

Well I have take a look at the traits you are using, you should use 6 in virtues to get the stability on VoCourage..
Also, you have to learn how to use your blind/blocks properly to negate his Damage or combo burst/pull etc..
- DD ele is a very bad matchup, unless you want to stale a fight..
- With Gs, theres 50/50 chance to kill shoutbow in 1v1’s situation.
With Medi Hammer its Not a good match up to 1v1 shoutbow unless you want to stale the fight.. - Vs Cele Engi(of same skill lvl) its really 50/50, learn to not waste your dodge and blinds, dont get bait out of positionnement..
Remember that Engi has passive every 15s that makes em imune to condition, you do not want to waste your imobs in it*

Engineers have some of the hardest skills and openings to counter. Often because they’re not only unpredictable in their rotations but you don’t know what skill they use until after the fact.
I’m talking about skills like
Gear Shield – You wont know until he blocks
Slick Shoes – You won’t know until you get downed or a long trail is made.
Jump Shot – You won’t know until he’s in the air and about to land
Coupled with near instant knockback effects and their sustains through kiting, it’s an overall tough fight for Any Guardian.
It’s easier for a Guardian to make mistakes and get countered than an Engineer but they are technically very much beatable, low and high tier players alike.
