Guess the class!
‘hears the sound of a dead horse being beaten’
its funny because, when your balancing a class its not only about that one particular class. its also how those changes will affect other classes as well. for instance your saying slows reduce the warrior’s overall effectiveness by 50%, but another class which relies on slows and conditions to deal damage would be useless against a warrior if the changes you ask for are made, take a guess…. you got it! Necromancer
Necromancers are a light armor class even though they have a naturally high health pool (even without death shroud), it is extremely difficult for a condition oriented class to deal with sustained dps/burst classes when conditions are most effective the longer the fight goes on…… so for the fight to last long the necro needs to be able to kite and mitigate damage as well as possible. of course death shroud helps in a sense to mitigate damage, but when dealing with high burst classes such as warrior (DS cooldown 10sec), while many burst classes have access to their high burst skills on much shorter cooldown (e.g 100b 8 sec) which for any good player playing burst class would time their burst after their oppenent has used their stun breaks.
Warrios already have a trait which when traited too helps them remove slows instantly when you use your heal. what I am trying to say is warrior is a heavy burst class, and that burst comes with a scarifice in that you need to be babysit by your teammates for the warrior to be most effective even the dev’s understand it:
these are quotes from JP about Class balance philosophies from December
Warrior
We want the Warrior to be capable of good melee damage in a sturdy body. They can still do some decent damage at range, but they aren’t as good at it as the Ranger (with their pet). They have a hard time taking enemy boons down, and instead, have to just go through them with raw force. They may have a hard time with enemy conditions, and may need to ask for ally help in order to keep themselves free of hampering conditions.
Necro
The necro boasts the highest natural health of all the caster classes, and also has death shroud to extend that life total even higher. While they don’t have some of the escape or damage reduction capabilities that other classes boast, they do have a lot of ways to win attrition fights. They have access to poison on multiple weapons, they are able to combine condition damage with raw damage, and they have multiple disables to interrupt enemy skills.Necomancers also have multiple movement disabling abilities, while allows them to chase down enemies who are low on health.
So, What do I think is a good fix. MORE VIABLE BUILDS which they promised they are working on and said to be coming in the following months ahead. more viable builds will open up more play styles and different mechanics for all classes and make the game feel fresh and exciting again. To make more viable builds they need to change how for some classes the trait system is currently layed out some traits make no sense down certain lines and some simple fixes can open up a whole new level of mechanics for certain classes which I am hoping for and am looking forward too…

I am extremely tempted to call zone out on this one but you know what? My class is getting over-buffed and becoming borderline broken anyways, might as well enjoy whats going to happen
Warrior going to be the next Ele, also known as the class that everyone denied that was broken but actually is. Coming this February.
Lets balance Warriors out guys. Lets make Warriors broken, I mean balanced.

I wouldn’t say that warriors are 50% less effective when snared, but everyone and their mothers has access to a combination of cripple, immobilize and chill. Cleansing often doesn’t help because of how spammable snares are in the meta game and even without being snared warriors are very easily kited and controlled by some of the more prominent classes.
Also build diversity don’t always help a game, especially when the game has questionable core mechanics. In fact I’d say that they only augment engaging games by adding variety. The strange quirk about ANet’s decision to make GW2 an MMO and an “eSport” is variety is imposed through personalization of character. Even though the metagame could do without warriors (eles and thieves fill whatever niche they could with one hand tied behind their backs), people want to play warriors because they identify with them. Instead of having a game based around bunker, roamer, point guard, you have a game that needs to accommodate all eight classes.
Wututalkingboutwillis?
Whatever as long as they buff thieves too, you can get what you want.
