Guild Wars 2 Problems
We’ve got 1 more living story release after edge of the mists before the March patch drops guys. I guess playing angry little kids in a toy store is what we enjoy doing more than anything else.

The big features patch (anything for pvp at all) is late spring/early summer. So that is like May/June probably. That is all sPvP players care about. Have fun for the next 5 months

Feature patch was (in interview with colin johanson) said to be late spring/early summer iirc.
Which means may/june to me. In addition, they are holding stuff back to get a big marketing push behind this feature patch to stop people going to wildstar and ESO. It is no coincidence they are going to put it all in together.
I remember them saying March would be the feature patch but we’ll see nonetheless.

Repair every professions mechanics that have not worked properly for months.
Clear transparency with where this is all going. I can’t tell what the pvp in this game is hoping to achieve or make of itself. It is casual, is it competitive?, is balanced around team or individual?, against safe play or dynamic play?
Quit the nerfs where the reasons given for why don’t make sense or are simply not true.
Quit talking about skills being clear and visible and allowing for counter play when some professions skills have no posture, animation or cue. Laws are only laws when they apply to everyone. Either everyone has animations/postures/cues..or none of us do and we all have skill bars.
Make good on statements. “we’ll be working on reducing particle before years end.” There is currently more particle currently with all the new finishers added each update.
Change camera angles so the camera is not behind a tree or curtain. Remove environment if need be.
Forget creative design evolution if there is no feedback about was taken from all of this and what is going to be implemented. I have politicians for this in my life, I don’t need it from video’s game I play to pass time.
If you love time gating so much, time gate forums. People can post one thing every 24 hours. Look carefully about what you like to comment on, and what you feel others have commented enough. It removes bickering, asinine knee jerk comments where someone got spanked and now wants to soap box. Is it censorship? perhaps..but censorship for the best.
Make yourself more visible in game. You created it. You should enjoy your work. Nothing gives better perspective than being in it. I can imagine your busy, really busy. I think it would give more confidence to the community to line up in soloQ, or be matched in tpvp or just even see an a-net insignia running round hotjoin.

Lack of players = lack of resources. Majority of their money comes from PvE, after that it’s WvW. So this is were all the manpower and resources go. Why should they keep pumping money into something that isn’t going to make them a profit? That doesn’t make any sense from a business stand point, I really can’t blame Anet because it’s the right move. As of right now Anet is just trying to keep whatever PvP population they have left.
PvP flopped too hard at the start of the game due to a number of reasons, and there’s no way to recover from that. I love pvp in this game, but I know it’s never going to get the attention and resources it deserves.

But there isn’t even class balance for pve. In fact I’d say it’s even worse, anything other than a zerk warrior just doesn’t exist. I just get the impression that they either don’t get that people are hating the state of balance or they are under some delusion that balance is fine as it is. Maybe they have just cut their losses, who knows
For scope, this is a B2P game gaining revenue from gem sales which typically go on shiny new armour skins and we have waited months for them to make tiny adjustments to class balance. By comparison I play Marvel Heroes by Gazillion which is a very low budget F2p game which also works on gem sales. That company did a class-wide evaluation of damage and survivability in November, continually pushes out tweaks to balance on a weekly basis, chooses 2-3 classes each month to receive a complete overhaul of their traits + abilities which often includes adding new ones in addition to revamping old/unused ones while at the same time updating their gem store with fantastic skins [note: not recolours of existing ones] and pushing out a new class each month. All I can say is how refreshing it feels playing that game compared to how much of a dredge it can feel playing here at times, their pvp is far from perfect but at least people are having fun.
There is no real excuse for leaving balance adjustments this long, we need them now.

MMOs dream of having the launch GW2 had.
The droves of dedicated followers, the lack of competition…
I mean, sure GW2 is low on population now… but that’s only because, even with millions playing GW2 PvP, Anet couldn’t get anything done.

That’s what I stated in my post,

They where investing a lot into pvp. However it was the wrong thing. All they care about was esports, and they put all their money into that. However they forgot about balance, more game modes, and the basic functions of a pvp game.

Their MMR is trash, leaderboards are useless, their whole game engine doesn’t support a legitimate spectator mode and the gameplay itself is a mess to watch.
I mean, I would completely agree with you, if they had made any large strides in the realm of esports features, like they were working hard to on any of those things I listed, but they really weren’t. They tossed out a few half-baked features and left it at that.

Happens when you create a mega hype (which also happened to be an intentionally misleading fabrication to woo the old pvp playerbase) and then end up releasing the game in beta, if not alpha state, in order to catch the last moments before the beginning of the next school semester (pretty sure NCsoft are the culprits behind that one, at least).
Obviously your customers will not be amused to have parts of burgers shoved down their throats when they were under the impression to expect a top-restaurant gurmet dish deluxe edition.

as long as anet doesnt listen to us players nothing will change…we sent them balance ideas but apparently their ideas are better for the game

Lets be honest , we are completly ignored , non of sugestion made here on forum was not implemented even those realy good one that would improve the game. Its realy sad , there is no teamwork between comunity and team responsible for pvp.

I playied a lot of games and i had never felt so ignored like here. Ppl are tring to help improving this game , they are able write tons of text just to help , lets be honest this game wont improve never , best games are those made by players it was always like that but here devs know better and we see what we have now…

i made the suggestion the first day tome of knowledge dropped me in wvw from a chest or event or was it a livingstory world event? karka event? ( cant remember anymore) to sell this in sPvp for glory – and look they did it^^
my suggestion was bigger like:
1 lvl per tome deer
2 lvl per tome Dolyak
3 lvl per tome ….
and so on and we can sell it in TP to make money
but still, i love they just sell it^^

Exactly. PVE class balance is not even considered. WVW class balance is not considered either. There are serious intra-class balance issues that date back to beta that haven’t even been touched yet, eg: Ele signets, glyphs.

Gold won’t change the misserable state of PvP. The dedicated PvP-Players never aimed for gold, it’s a cool accessory but not more. I think Forsaker talks about Balance-Suggestion from players that were ignored, and in my opinion the biggest reason why this game is doomed to fail. The game is not funy anymore, because the builds are not.
We gave A-Net so many suggestions on balance, but they always made their own decisions, completely ignoring the community. And now look at how angry the community is (well…the small rest that is still playing). They made the Balance worse and worse, with every patch.
But yeah, I already saw that coming by watching the SOTG’s and the balance-patch afterwards. Zero kittens were given on the opinion of a top-player.
Arenanet pretty much dug themselves into this problem with spvp.
The problems why guild wars 2 will probably never be balanced.
1. No trinity
2. Everyone has a heal and each of these heals are different giving certain classes better sustain over others.
3. Classes being able to use ranged+melee weapon types. Usually a player is only able to use one weapon type why? Because it can be balanced around a hell of a lot easier. Being able to have a ranged weapon then also have melee is just a little outrageous especially in a pvp environment in an mmo. Ranged classes are usually balanced by haveing a smaller health pool and less armor and make kiting your main survivability tool. Also you usually have your melee fighters peel for you. Not saying you can’t have melee+ranged together but it needs to be looked at very well and in this case that class(s) would have to be unique in a way that is balanced and not given the good sides of both ends.
4. Hard counters. From all my time playing mmos or pvp games in general have i never seen a game have actual counters that just plain out make that person win because he becomes full immune or has more then 4 seconds of immunity.
5. Trying to balance a mmo through 3 formats(pve,pvp,wvw). They are just crazy…
6. Regaining hp out of combat why have this feature(spvp especially)? Are we playing an fps? The problem with this is each person has a different effective health pool via higher health/armor/personal sustain. Making this feature unbalanced between classes/builds. For example making a guy that just used his elite and cooldowns to spike a guy down because other guy was just hurp durpin then amazingly enough he is able to escape your grasp and come back with full health or go else where. While you just wasted your cooldowns the other player can now go off and re-engage into battle without being punished.
These are just my says on why gw2 probably won’t ever become a balanced game unless big changes are made.
