Guild Wars 2 aka Dragon Hunter 2
Just nerf that kitten finally. It is the most idiotic playstyle in the history of gw2 pvp.
Is all Karl can design perma dodge classes and “press your right skillbar every X second to kill stuff”? On ranger they do 400% shaving and on DH they nerf rune of the trapper by 1 sec stealth rofl …
Finally reduce the damage of those kitten traps.
Engineers don’t have any reliable stability or teleports unless they are a Flamethrower build. What do? Also how about Rangers, they only have it on skills with a 1 second cast time and they can’t dodge CC in there.
The use of elixer B is quite common amongst engis/scrappers. In fact the scrapper “meta build” uses B. B toolbelt skill offers tab.
Well even if they use it over a kit it still has a cast time and DH has multiple ways to CC while you are stuck in there but you cannot dodge them and trying to wait it out with non movement based invulnerability will just get you hit by LB5 right before maw ends.
OK, for the sake of clarity, what do YOU want done with maw, glaphen?

Increase cast time to at least 3/4 seconds and give it a different animation.
Se that’s actually a good idea Glaphen, unlike the normal nerf nerf nerf going around.
if youre still getting killed by dragon hunters, why don’t you do yourself a favour and uninstall. i don’t even play DH, yet i see them as free kills.
still, I’m sure all this whining will lead to some poor decisions by ANet.

I’m sure the you know that by increasing the cast time to that length would be fair if you reduced the CD by a certain amount since it would be unusable during a fight.
Also, what do you mean by a different animation? The huge fangs popping out of the ground aren’t enough for you?

Different placement animation so it doesn’t look like a Ranger placing a Frost Trap. Not like the jaw is visible most of the time, but even if it was that gives you less than .5 seconds if it can be dodged. Even the heal has a different animation.

Oh, OK. That sounds fair, so long as the CD gets knocked down by a chunk.
Lol 33.33% chance on your 2 dodges. Yes you might be able to dodge the closing jaws but I don’t really know because the trap animation is invisible to me 90% of the time.
Why is Dragons Maw animation invisible to you but visible to EVERYONE else?

I wasn’t aware of this, but this would explain some of the complaints about traps. When the trap activates, you should see bright blue fangs materializing on the ground in a circle around you before Dragon’s Maw actually takes effect. If you’re able to see it, it’s easy to tell apart from other traps and gives you time to avoid it (even if they cast JI while setting the trap). Hopefully they’ll get that fixed in one of the mini-patches we’ve been getting daily since launch.
Nah, it sounds like people running the game on low specs. Not much to be expected when every game’s download page warns you that you will experience less-than-optimal play if you don’t meet the recommended specs.
This is funny. Everyone said a few days ago no one would run Dragon’s Maw after it’s CD was just increased by 20%. Renewed Focus for sure, right? Turns out it’s still pretty good. That is a good nerf by Anet since now there are several competitive elites for Guardian (poor Ele doesn’t have a single one!)
I think all the idea that you should burn all your dodges/stunbreaks/teles against a single trap is pretty misguided. As a DH, that’s exactly what I’d like you to do. Then you have no dodges left for my Might-enhanced True Shot, and my Justice pull back into the traps.
The only counters to a GOOD DH trapper right now is to a. Kill them without triggering any traps (difficult but doable if you are careful and have numbers advantage). b. Ignore that point and concentrate on getting the other points. c. Send your pet/minions in there to trigger traps first.
There is no question DH is a top-tier build right now for Conquest. Whether it needs further nerfs is absolutely impossible to say without seeing metrics that only Anet has access to. Let’s just leave them to do their work.

Noone said you needed to blow all CC/stun breaks. People have listed ways that can be used to counter the one trap. Dodges and CC/stun breaks should be used when most effective, using them appropriately to counter a good elite like DM is a good use you would only need to use one not all. Thats where reading comp comes in.

Then by invisible trap, do you mean the initial circle is invisible or is the maw itself invisible? I’ll assume you’re talking about having the entire maw itself being invisible. If that’s the case, I don’t understand how a person with max settings can’t see the jaws.

The maw itself is entirely invisible, I just get knockbacked over and over till I realize it’s a maw, same with LB5 but I can see the arrow rain at least.
Then I’m entirely sure your graphic card is bad man. I see the LB ward AND maw 100% of the time. At least now I understand where a majority of your salt is coming from.

Toolbelts throw elixer skill is instant. After that you have to block the knockback…once that is done the DH pressure is low like for about 40 secs…more than enough to kill him.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Toss_Elixir_B Clearly says .5 second cast time and if you use a block he can break it with LB3 plus grandmaster if he wants or just start casting LB5 for a second 6 second barrier, also pretty sure the trap daze breaks blocks too.

I take it you didn’t watch the ESL. Hint: Watch how Abjured handles the DH guards.

Solo Unrank Queue does not govern the meta game. If it did then Anet would nerf items based on these players Solo Unrank experiences.

Lol! That should be your sig.
Rank: Top 250 since Season 2
#5 best gerdien in wurld
Where can I watch that? I did a search, couldn’t find anything on Youtube or ESL website or Twitch channel.

DH is everything I wanted my Ranger to be from day 1. I find it kind of insulting honestly.
Here’s a perspective from outside the DH point of view.
When you see a Dragon Hunter on a point, there is always a moment of doubt about either there is some traps under him or not. You simply cannot guess the Dragon Hunter build. And I am pretty sure that the thieves can confirm that the difference between a full trap and a Medi DH is a matter of life and death.
My main concern with DH is their pressure both against ranged opponents and melee opponents in 1v1s, and their overwhelming presence in teamfights. If you felt like Static Field of 4s was long, imagine the guy stuck in the smallest cage for 6 seconds; and you can dodge in a Static Field. About the ranged pressure, I can get critted for 6-8 k by true shot as a Marauder Staff Tempest. The decision to stay in range is not applicable considering that my attacks are far from equal, and that the difference in armor is massive light vs heavy. The decision to get in melee (which I do with Earth Shield) is potentially fatal if there is a trap laid there, though, I need to get in melee to have a chance against them. I can’t even imagine the shortbow thief against the dragon hunter; at least I have magnetic aura every 30 seconds.

And druid is what every bunker guard wanted to be from day 1. Trade?

In a heartbeat. How Ranger LB and traps can be so blah for so long, only for them to come out with an awesome LB dps and amazing traps specialization for Guardian. Head scratcher for me.
What really tickles my funny bone is these elites are exactly what the core specs are, just moved over to other classes and given a makeover and a twist.
It’s gotten so bad that I was called a cheap DH when I ran staff mace/focus on clerics
