If GW2 PvP was that great it wouldn’t struggle in twitch viewers like it is now. Most of those 80k twitch viewers were PvE players waiting to see what shiny skins they were going to tease, the PvP scene died long ago.

Please give sources and citations. While I definitely consider GW2 to be a superior game in almost every way (the PvP and character creation are probably the only things BnS seem to do better), I doubt many are watching twitch on it rather than just playing the game itself.

The thing is, gw2 had the potential to be by now as big as e.g. smite. But like alway, gw2 managed to screws up again.

Probably a lot of those players who came back with HoT have left by now because the league system and balance were not even close to where it should have been.
The sad part is, that we started to point out all the problems that the league system should avoid; once it got closer to HoT and we knew how the league system will look, we pointed out the problems again and again, but guess what… they did not change anything and the trash league got introduced.

If you want gw2 to be successful, you can’t make mistakes that every other game out there managed to avoid. But no, we will reinvent the wheel again, too bad, that it has edges and is not round, but I’m sure it is by far better!

The same situation with f2p and elite specs. Why are the elite specs mandatory and locked behind a pay wall? This will prevent gw2 from growing!

I really love the combat in gw2, but I am afraid, that it once again threw away its only chance to become successful.

B&S is out since 2012 i believe. Also this is a mock thread to another thread that compared the 2 games at some point when B&S had superior numbers.

That is a load of BS…OP’s where is your source? I seen both launches, & i cant tell you straight up. Your numbers are totally fabricated & WRONG. BnS had 2k viewers on there channel a few hours prior to when it started. & followed over 10k viewers during that hour. BnS actually broke every Gw2 twitch viewing record. & still is. Go take a look. Top NA BnS streamers are over 1k viewers atm. Gw2 streamers never get does numbers. EVER!

The Op’s is obviously not bias & just frustrated that many of the Gw2 population are migrating to BnS. & It’s is actually true. There’s no denying it, it’s a fun game. & i’m sorry, pvp is actually freaking amazing in BnS. Try it, if you can Q in. That’s the big drawback. To many ppl playing it..Q time is horrible.

Well that’s when the servers manage to stay online tho).
Or maybe because I had chosen a reccomended new server.
Anyway small scale like duels might actually be decent enough in BnS, but I couldn’t even survive the terrible quest hubbing levelling system straight outta 2004.

Im played BnS on russia Server. I like the game course the game give me the option to play pvp on 1v1/3v3/5v5 and open World. I like the skilled based fighting system (also like the GW2 fighting system). GW2 give me a system where pug groups fight vs duo/pre mates. I like GW2 and BnS but atm im more like to play BnS pvp as GW2 pvp.

This is a bit of a tangent, but I need to stop you at guild wars not having a special target audience.

Guild Wars actually has a very specific target audience. GW2 is drawn on classic western epic themes, specifically the epic quest theme popularized by Tolken’s Lord of the Rings. Due to this GW2’s target audience is going to be limited to people raised in western culture. That’s a fairly hefty limitation, since western culture isn’t exactly friendly to the idea of competitive gaming. Then you have to add on the fact that GW2 has to compete directly with titles like WoW for the exact same niche.

BnS however is coming from Asia, and Asian culture is so much more friendly towards the idea of competitive gaming, and just gaming in general. Also games built on Asian culture convert better to western markets than western games convert to Asian markets.

Runescape has more views then gw2 on a consistent basis lmao gw2 is just boring to watch.

Also, I just downloaded BnS yesterday and the combat is more enjoyable imo. I still got love for gw2 though.

Really? You realy think so?.. I mean They did attempt at the asian market in 2014, & failed. & after all that, from here to there, you would think they would want any one to play there game at this point. No it’s kinda obvious Anet have no idea what they want to target.

BnS was made for an asian market & never for an NA/EU market in mind. It’s only after they have a certain success that NA/EU companies brings em over.

atreyu.9624 Idk, the quest hubbing levelling system might be straight outta 2004, but atm seems not to detract peeps from playing it. I would agree in normal circumstances. But the pve gameplay dont feel grindy. At all! & the story line wile classic revenge seen it before is still way better told & presented then all the stories in Gw2 HoT combined.

Well, if it needs to stack the deck so much in the GW2’s favour before comparison, it only reinforces the original thread.

Does it even matter?Queve times are short at any time of day and its funn to play so far.You dont have to care for league or tournament to play the game and have funn.I wish there would be more maps and mechanics to play.So far we had one stronghold and courtyard was even removed “ppl dont like to pvp in pvp it seems”.So we playing same maps over and over and over for such a long time
