Gw2 spvp: the comunity is kind of kittenty
you dont care bout your teammates by bringing worsed class/build so its your fault too^^
play it in hotjoin or your 5 man team but dont grief other randoms by “testing” broken class
and you can whine bout but thats how i see it^^
I respect those who have the balls to play ele in solo Q, and will not blame them for a lost, its a game, they have the right to play how they want.
If the performance of the class is low, blame the balance team and NOT the players.

This makes very little sense.
If you’re matched with the staff ele ( and given staff eles are underperforming so will be part of low elo matches) it means you’re on the same elo than him.
Point is: he’s very skilled or you’re terribad with your braindead build ( i’m not referring to you).
It’s simple math logic, really.
Well, I’m seeing alot more staff eles pop up. It’s just staff elementalist has always been useless in sPvP it would require coordination which doesn’t have a place in solo Q in my honest opinion.
With the new changes to the elementalist it does seem to be viable, but don’t beat on a dead stick for players still stuck in the fact that it was something you would never take.
As for the raging at each other.
I haven’t come across a single game out there that has a competitive setting in mind that doesn’t have this.
If you play Solo Queue or Team Queue your just going to end up with this.
I’m not going to tell you to play Hot join, I’m just going to tell you the above and be done with it.

You kinda said it yourself , playerbase aint that big anymore.
There is a reason why that is , and it has brought a lot of frustration the past year to the players that are still hoping that change is comming.
1 ) Balance patches that aren’t really balancing but just moving the OP’ness from character to character.
2 ) Good suggestions that are ignored at first , and implemented 6 months later when its to late. Ow and even then its implemented with flaws : soloque with synching …. how long did we have to wait for them to implement soloQue , and how long did we have to wait again for a decent matchmaking ?)
3 ) finally some rewards for playing pvp …… only took them a year to find some.
4 ) Exploits where allowed to be abused and even rewarded with the last patch. ( skyhammer glory farm => new glory merchants )
and the list goes on.
So dont blame the playerbase for having some ju rks , Arenanet created them.
Last “balance” patch actually broke some ele’s builds, and the ele forum has been theorycrafting alternative builds that Anet hopes for us to do. So more people have been testing other builds, and recently there were some threads of staff builds. Consider this our desperation at finding a new meta build that actually works.
Red circles heal you. Just relax.
What is the best build for TPvP staff ele?
PvP is like this everywhere; GW2 is actually better than most.
The people are probably the #1 reason most players avoid it. Player-player combat attracts the aggressive and obnoxious crowd to begin with and tends to bring out the worst in people.
I met a “Heralded Achiever” and could tell he was in soloQ for the dailies.
Anytime he won, he would repeatedly jump on the enemy teams body. Whats really worse was that he always ran with 2 other people and was proud he killed a solo thief with his lil “gang”. also he ran dat hambow mmmm….

if you get affected by someone jumping on you in PvP
you’re gonna have a bad time
Theres just some people whos nerves arent so strong and get frustrated, its team game and if theres someone pulling down whole team hes kitten .
Im not talking here about staff ele or any other ele, im talking about people who play the game wrong, it doesnt matter what you play.
For example if we have 2 points and 1 guy starts pushing far when i need help at close it makes me rage, you can be braindead dude playing staff ele with no amulet but at least come stand on the point for 2 seconds so i can retreat and get some preassure off me.
ANY good ELEMENTALIST is more useful to me than dumb warrior, but are you sure its your class and not your crap play? Just today i had ele who instead of helping me at mid decided to go far and try to solo 2x bunker guards…
Theres no useless class in this game only useless players and they make me rage, have at least enough respect for others and play a bit hotjoin and for gods sake THINK.
I was in a team with playing schedule, i’m not the best player but i’m decent. Meaning I know the basics. They just got mad because they lost and in a matchmaking system u will lose close to 50% of the games…
But, class counts, I played warrior and after 10 minutes I was a better player than with the staff ele. And there is more, one of the best tips to climb the ladder is play something that can tank and do some damage, like a greatsword guardian, because solo ladder or solo team queue ladder isn’t about your skill, is about defending/attacking points, so class/build counts a lot.
As i plated 500+ rank the bad behaviour and language is very rare, at least in my experience, much more sportmanship. So yeah conclusion: ppl with bad behaviour arent that good players they think they are.
Also personally i never saw in my team that anyone was bashing specific player build or profession (aka staff ele, and i have met quite some of them).
How one player skill or build is good will tell rating, not your bad language. Everyone is there where they belong.
I will stop flaming in solo queue when Anet decides to fix the game and balance the cheese they created.
Only had a handful of games where people were behaving like kittens. Just ignore it for the time being and after the game think about if he had a valid point. At least in top 100 solo queue people are friendly although not particularly social.
pvp chat is hilarious madtyping. the real kittenty community is the pve side.

So you’re getting matched up with Arenanet employees in solo queue? Fascinating.

U can wait for that a long long time .
becouse most of the gw2 tpvp community is kids who come from Lol / dota who think they are esports so they have the mentality of “my team is bad, that guy is so bad, you are using a build that no1 is using so by default you are bad”
I feel with you, OP. I came from scbw iccup, then sc2 to gw2 and the mmo pvp community seems to be totally different and antisocial to what I experienced in the formerly mentioned games. Regular things happening in RTS, like the opposing player congratulating you for good moves or even for being outplayed in certain situations and asking for advice, never experienced that attitude here.
In scbw especially I always had the feeling people have the greater goal of becoming better while accepting they`re terrible, even top players included (since they lost to koreans). That attitude made pvp so much more enjoyable and rewarding (for both sides, I guess).

What is the best build for TPvP staff ele?
There isn’t one. But it you’re running ele in tpvp/spvp then you should be the standard bunker support for fields and “control”. You’re still putting your team at a high handicap because every other class can do everything better and easier than an ele. I’m not flaming or trolling, I main an ele/engi/guard… The truth is that in pvp ele has no place at all. You’ll kill bad players easily but anyone can kill them hot join nubs.
if you’re dead set on playing your ele in pvp then go with an aura share d/d build and learn the proper rotations and run with a buddy or team. You will be focused down first and you will die. But if you’re having fun then that’s all that matters. But just don’t frustrate yourself by trying to make staff work in pvp.
Asura Ele- Sir Im afraid youre short. Why is it always short jokes. No, youre short on the bill.

Longbow power ranger, even slightly worse, so suckeeeeeet
@OP:
Anyone with a mature and level head on their shoulders has long since stopped playing gw2pvp for one of a dozen reasons all summarized by: it sucks donkey balls.
what remains … are specialty breeds.

This. Trash talk is the better half of PvP. And once you understand that it doesn’t actually affect you in any meaningful way whatsoever, you might even learn to enjoy it.
Staff ele is viable in solo queue if you know your role, but then anything is viable considering the trash that rattles around in there.
In practise, solo queue is 10% build, 20% skill and 70% ability to use the minimap.
What’s a “comunity”?
