Guild Wars 2

I have a few questions about PvP regarding the changes that have been made since the release of Guild Wars 2:

1) How exactly does ranked work? Is there an elo system?

2) Do you now not get those ‘free’ lv80 weapons when playing pvp, but your level still gets upped to 80 (so like WvW).

3) Any tips?

1.) Ranked and unranked are both using a matchmaking-system.

2.) You are basically playing as a level 80 character with level 80 weapons, it does no matter which level your equipped weapons actually have.
For your equipment you have to have a coat, leggins and boots. It does not matter which level they are, but without equipping them, you are loosing armor.
The other stats are only influenced by your amulet-choice. Once you are in the mist, click on top of the screen at “PvP-Build” to custom your rune, weapon sigils and amulet.

3.) Start using META-builds; only customize them, after you are familiar with them. Know you enemy, play around with every profession, to see what they can do, and to what you have to be aware of / what you need to dodge, cleanse, avoid, and so on..
