Borrowing the name of the chest thread because it got a red banner response.

What is going to happen to the forgeable mats??

Are they going to disappear? If not, will their current recipes still exist, or will they be used for something new after the update?

Preferably I (and others) would like a direct answer either telling us to make dyes/gear with it now, or hold onto it for new things on march 18th.

The information we have received is confusing, and doesn’t tell us what is going to be happening.

And creating gear goes along the lines of:

1 gear token (weapon/armour piece, bought at rank vendors)
1 rank or tournament token (dolyak, wolf, tiger etc, or free/paid tournament token)
1 arcane orb/crystal/sliver (depending on the gear you want to roll for)
5 arcane powder

Basically the entire community needs an answer on this ASAP.

it would be a wise choice to let us exchange the mats of equal value you would gain from chests. if you’re doing something to award people who has many chests unopened, it should be done to the mats as well.

we who have opened the chests because of your confusing posts “all random existing reward chests will disappear” need to be able to exchange our useless arcane powder/crystal/silver/orbs that we got in massive amounts for nothing (atm).

There are some good looking skins you can make with them if you do not have them yet.

Could someone tell me what this means? How would saving up chests benefit anyone post patch?

and thaoo, i said “IF” they are “awarding” meaning something such as exchanging the chests for something we need in upcoming patch.
just like we could exchange tournament tickets for chests before.

Well, looks like i won’t be able to use my mats or glory boosters before then. oh well

guess ill just make useless dye’s that can’t be sold unidentified =(

ok, i forged couple of items in zommoros. but while i have other components left (not much, around 50 of arcanse silver and other similar quantities), i am out of rank/tournament tokens (i almost entirely pvp in hotjoins). is there a way to get them? wiki says i should salvage pvp items, which is not very useful for me. i’m not aiming to get something specific, i just thought not to waste pvp forging component before they retire. salvaging some pvp items to get single new item is not a point.

is there anything i can do?

Its pretty weird to just delete the rewards given to players without any compensation. I don’t think I have seen any other mmo do that.

Nice would be a vendor who exchange 1 or 10 of any crafting material for sth,… doesn t need to be useful but better thn making sth out of it tht u alrdy have to salvage it and repeat till nothing is left or u r out of glory for the sake of salvage kits…
would u mind changing the dye craft conversion rate into 10 of each not 10 x and 1y, tht s some very weird conversion which will nva make the cut to craft sth useful or at least worthy u got thr,…

I have hundreds, if not 1000’s of crafting mats. Anet please seriously look at what you are asking me to do. You are asking me to spend HOURS salvaging, and clicking materials into the Mystic Forge because of your system change. If I do not, then I forfeit all of those rewards. This means that I cannot play the game, but rather I have to use a burdensome system to liquidate my rewards, rewards which I have stockpiled because of the system being so awful to use. This is a waste of my time, and of my past effort.

I urge you to seriously reconsider the way you are implementing this change. You are changing the system, and the burden should be on you to liquidate my items not me.

I opended all my boxes and creafted some mats. But you always get the same stuff. Salvage it and get some magic find. Could we transmute the mats to magic find directly?

Every player with rank > 30 has all items from the boxes already.
