Hammer Warrior
Warriors were useless for almost 1 year. Then they got buffed and reappeared in tpvp.
It was too strong so they nerfed it a little.
Their goal isnt to remove warriors from tpvp again.
Chars : Exa Flare | Exaflare | Aurora Wall | Aurora Sword | Azure Flame God
They’re way squishier now but u need stab or a teleport to really get away. They’re not that broken anymore
the cc was fine…but massive damage + CC wasnt. they just needed a massive damage nerf, which is what they got.
They’re once again an easy kill for my mesmer.
I don’t mind it.
Its buildwars, the warrior can be really strong vs certain builds a dogfood for others. Against a powerful attrition class like a necro or mesmer they will lose. They can pretty much eat everything else though.
I watched a hambow in the dueling arenas kill everyone because his mass cleansing, zerker, stance, and high burning uptime. But against a mesmer he wasn’t able to out damage signet of the ether or remove conditions fast enough to keep up with the mesmers hybrid damage.
There were players against him that put an extreme amount of skill into fighting him, used every CD appropriately, and still lost because of the long windows of immunity the warrior had.
Then the mesmer comes and literally destroys him just by spawning 3 phantasms and dancing around in stealth. The warrior couldnt do anything but sit there and die and you could tell the mesmer put hardly any effort into killing him.
Its an ongoing problem of some matchups being unbeatable no matter how much skill they have.
And yes this game is not based on 1v1, but an even bigger problem is certain classes such as warrior and guardian, engineer, and phantasm mesmers allow players to be “one man teams” that take teamplay in order to kill.
When you need a team to beat one guy or have to run a bunker that can damage to be competitive. Well I don’t know what else to say. Things are so messed up I don’t even know if they can ever be fixed.
They are still here because of healing signet. Without it warriors are just a freekill.

Because as I pointed out before, AoE CC coupled with decent AoE damage is never going to be bad.
I know Hammer hasn’t been popular for that long but it has always been OP in my book. No class should be able to constantly put out so much AoE CC. It’s just broken, especially in a game where most players have a fairly short time to live.
People back then were just too caught up in the impressive Greatsword numbers to give Hammer much attention. Now that they’ve grasped how easy it is to pressure people with CC in this game they won’t give it up easily.
Because as I pointed out before, AoE CC coupled with decent AoE damage is never going to be bad.

Uh, Hammer was NOT OP before. It became OP when ANET buffed hammer skills by removing aftercast so they could be chained / allowed them to be used while moving (they used to root the warrior during the animation). Prior to these changes, it was very difficult to land staggering blow / hammer shock.

That may be so.
However I still remember facing the odd Hammer Warrior early in the game and it was annoying as hell. This game gives us access to 1 stun-breaker on a 30-60 second cooldown, 1 dodge every 10 seconds and then gives a class the ability to AoE CC everyone within 10 yards every…what, 8 seconds?
Yes, maybe the weapon was poorly designed (I’d argue it still is), but it’s still conceptually overpowered. It’s just not healthy to have such a weapon in game, and it’s not fun to play against. Would you consider it fun to play against Necros that could AoE fear every 8 seconds, even if the class was balanced around it?
