Its great to see stuff like scaling with enemys – while other still get passive natural AOE but ok…..
Why continue with the slow cast mentality - it has no place in pvp?

At least it looks cool, but numbers better be on the great/OP side…

I have the same concerns. But If shouts have short enough CD and aren’t gamechanging (I don’t think instant cast AoE skills you can stack on your bar will have too much spike dmg otherwise it’s going to be broken) then they can be used to consume the blinds at least, and maybe some will offer CC too.

well yeah, don’t u think ANet knows about blinds and blocks? Taht’s probably why they designed the Reaper with focus on teamfights – you’ll need immob’s and CC from other chars….

I like the concept of very slow attacks but big DMG, it could make teamfights more interesting. If the Reaper is actually good enough to warrant those probably big amounts of support he’ll need.

Kinda doesn’t work with the whole Horror-Creature-Analogy…. Jason Vorhees didn’t need a dude holding his victims down so he could hit them. xD

In the current Meta with stealth-openers and tons of immob and stuns that are hard to avoid, he could have to wind-up his sword for multiple seconds and it still would easily hit. It’s all about if the dps that follows is worth it.

If that shiny gs spec won’t have some meaningful hard (aka block, dodge, evade, invuln) defense, it will suffer the same as Necromancers do now and keep out of any engagement with more than 2 players in PvP.

It’s PvE&Zerg spec I guess.

Necro already has a huge problem with being interrupted. Another specialization that sits there waiting to be interrupted is so pointless. Even if necro gets a defiance mechanic and extra stability, it won’t be enough to deal with the large CC chains.

Remember the Shouts deal damage (this design was intentional) so you can start your slow attack and clear the block or blind during the swing with the shout – much like Mesmers use CoF during MirrorBlade to clear them atm. I understand the fear of slow attacks being nullified but lets wait for more info.

Well something that needs to be considered is that ESO hasnt not even caught up to gw2 in the same terms of how long its been out. (GW2 out since 2011/2012… ESO out since 2014) So if they had both started out at the same, Im pretty sure ESO would win that, and come after the console release they are making progressive gains and being vocal about it rather than hiding in secrecy like areanet. Its also worth noting that classes in ESO arent tied to just one single role thats played throughout the entire meta which im my opinon says ALOT about the LACK of diversity in GW2. Ive been playing GW2 since release and I am playing the same build since I started.

Come HoT, necro is still being force to follow the power meta that everyone runs today. More stacking to kill bosses, more damage now, more dps, nothing new what so ever or support for the team. So. sure Eso has to get more patches due to it being buggy since it’s launch but if it had equal footing with GW2 came out I do believe that would be a different story.

Uh…how slow do people think Necro GS is going to be…they just said slower than guardian and warrior, that could mean absolutely anything. It will probably be no slower than a hammer.

Also any players worth their queue spot would know to support their Reaper with stab it is an issue…thats why you play on teams. We already know Revs are going to poop out stab. People have no problem understanding the concept in WvW/GvGs. Remember when all guards weren’t medi?

Chrono + Reaper should be a good pair, and who cares if Chronos (speculation) will be able to lockdown Reapers, its called counters.

Necro doesn’t have Judge’s Intervention for instant mid cast teleport Mighty Blows. Maybe one of the shouts will be a teleport like JI. Yes, I can see it. One of the new Necro shouts will be called “Gotta Go Fast!” a 2000 range teleport that gives you 20s of Super Speed and colors you blue.
