I have been playing healbot elementalist since season 1, so i am tired of it.

In the last season i changed my build for Fresh Air, and practise in the off season time and WvW roam.

Yesterday i did my 10 clasification arenas, 7/3, and placed my in Gold3.

Today i played 3 more arenas, 3 loses, it does not matter to me, i do not want to obtain money for sPvP, or be the god of pvp.

But when i said to my team; i do not have the support build, they started the harrasment. Useless ele, play the proper build, learn to play, kill yourself, etc.

So, i reported the player that insulted me, i keep going, playing and trying to have fun. But i found him/her again in the next arena, an the cicle started all over again.

I understand this is a competitve mode, but that is not an excuse to be a complete toxic player. It is just a game, after all.

Does the report option means something? Or, if i ignore one player, the system can put us together in the same team?

Report to the devs as you did and open a ticket with support! I fully agree with you. Competitive does not have to mean toxic

for the most part, the in-game reporting system doesn’t amount to much unless they do something extream and blocking them doesn’t make a difference when queuing there is always a chance they will be on your team. The best advice I can give would be to add them to your friend’s list and try not to queue when they are in the lobby when possible.

There is only one thing you can do to make it more comfortable running FA ele. Tell your team you are not support and hope someone switches for support.

Look, if you want to try something out and is hopeful about getting it working, what other people say to you shouldn’t matter.

Do you need everyone to agree with you before you can run FA S/F Ele? If not, why would this one player with a negative response mean anything to you?

Just do your best. If they want to win, they will have to adapt around you. Tough luck if things don’t go their way, you don’t let someone else control how you feel.

Tell them right at the start you’re Fresh Air, and give them 1 minute to sort out the hurt feelings and angst so they can finally decide to switch. Ask yourself whether you value their opinion more, or do you want to play FA more. Selfish is not the word I would use, but assertive.

Reporting in this game does nothing unless it involves one of Anet’s golden shower children. Make a toon called Naru is a Cheater, they will make you change it. Make a toon called HighStoned, or Howiefeltersnatch, they won’t care.

Given players of equal skill level at mid tier and higher you will get farmed. It may work against people that aren’t smart enough to move out of AOE, and don’t recognized that you are an easy kill if focused. It may work if you are a “backline” player, but the 5v5 conquest mode is too difficult to have someone that is pure backline. Especially since there are no dedicated heal/prot. professions.

I can see why people you are playing with are frustrated. Is your “fun” worth wasting the 4 other people on your team’s time? Someone could just go to rank and RP as a pacifist and not attack. It may be fun for them, but for the people on their team it is frustrating that they randomly got paired with someone that isn’t taking it serious.

I am all for you playing your own build, I even play vanilla d/d & it does wonders compared to brainmushed tempest. I’ve played ele since launch & have seen the ups and downs. Anet can’t decide what to do with ele, so they keep punching healbot into a corner.

I am playing my warrior in this season, if there is an ele on our team I usually request they stick with me whether they’re damage or support- my concern is keeping us both alive. It’s only because I know how it feels to be THAT ele.

I had a match earlier the person kept spamming to me “KYS/ kill yourself/ go kittening die” and all other colorful words. I do NOT take this sort of toxicity lightly & always file a ticket.

With all the whining about match manipulation and cheating you bring up you should follow your own advice.

In all fairness ANet doesn’t directly control specific builds, only the specific traits/utilities/weapons. Its up to the players to make said build. What you should have said was to blame anet for making some utilities and traits such a piece blah blah blah.

I find a lot of people only know the meta. What’s funny about that is the meta only works if it matches your play style, so many people don’t play into their builds strong suit. Those are the same people that cry when you aren’t playing the meta. Just tell them that’s what you are playing and they will blame someone else.

3 years ago this wasn’t as much of an issue as people knew how to adapt. There was no “meta” and lots of people were happier.

Auramancer is an incredibly dull build to play, so I understand if you don’t want to use it; but the fact is, it’s the only viable ele build. Play any other ele build, and you require your team to carry you, without exception. You might as well be telling them you are playing without armor.

If you have thin skin and can’t handle the absolutely reasonable vitriol directed at you, I suggest playing a different class or taking your bad ele build to Unranked.

the sad part is, is that ele is backed into a corner with only being viable on a heal bot in PvP – play what you want.
